Who the hell is Beaudean? If you intended that to be a slap then I do not feel as much sympathy for New York because of 9-11 as I once did. I wonder how many Beaudeans showed up to help the New York Cinder Men and Women?
Beaudean is Debi>> debrobeaudean

Expect more of those stupid Go Daddy commericals diring the Daytona 500.

The 500 used to mean something, now winning at Daytona or 'dega only show that a driver managed to miss the big one (more often by luck than by skill) or happened to be at the front when the checkered flag dropped. DP has a chance to win for the same reasons anyone else does, luck and circumstance.

the only 2 open wheel drivers to be successful in NASCAR have been AJ Foyt and Tony Stewart.. now Tony will be on Danica's back bumper.. if there is ANYONE who can mentor Danica to become a successful stock car driver,, it is Tony Stewart. That is the challenge he has accepted.. he put his name on it,, and he will be successful.

Debi U call this being successful in NASCAR> Foyt won 7 NASCAR races, including the 1972 Daytona 500. Only 7 wins & a 500. OK if U say so.

I have to admit of all my friends & even my son that have attended the 500. They have told me the same thing . Stay at home and watch it on TV.And the ones that did like it was because they won a free trip.LOL But I got the opinion they enjoyed the hotel on the beach & entertainment that went along with the package more then the race.

I have to agree, I live close and have been there, done that. It's great if you want to hang out with the other race fans, but for me watching the race at Daytona is more enjoyable right here at home.

yeah,I would say so.. he did not stay with NASCAR for ownership.. but yes,, I say he was a VERY successful racer,,and a GREAT mentor for Tony.. I was just saying most who come over from open wheel, even those with more wins than AJ are not as successful as he was in NASCAR... and Danica is teaming up with the BEST of the BEST racers

as for going to the 500.. the track is huge and if your seats are not high enough up you miss a lot of the race due to the building on the inside of the front strech.. if they did not build that building,, it would be a better track to got to, since it blocks the start finish line for the entire backstretch.. I sit in the top checker board section right at the start finish line, we have to buy the entire week and it costs a lot but for me.. it is worth it because I like restrictor plate racing a lot... when they do race that is.. I dispise the HMS cars for the parade at dega that one year and unfortunately it has stuck with too many drivers.. but if you want to see exciting racing from the guys who usually do not get to race.. the 500 is an amazing race to go to, if you have a good seat.

Orange City? I've tipped back a few and watched many races at Daly's back in the day.
I've been to a few races at Daytona as well and I agree that while every fan should experience it at least once, the race is usually more enjoyable at home on TV.

First of all, I'll die laughing if she does win...

Second of all, Trevor Bayne won last year & next to no one gave him a shot. If Trevor won, Danica can too.

I can not sit at home & watch the race for what 3 to 4 hrs. I start spring cleaning on the day the 500. But to be stuck in the bleachers for that amount of time. This girl can not do it I would be pulling my hair out. And to be perfectly honest why would any one waste money on watching the two car hook up. What I refer to as square dancing. It even isn't racing in my book. I agree with rutto nothing happens to the last 50 laps. Thats if you R lucky LOL J/S

It's actually much funner in person. I do agree that they are to long though, especially when you are sitting in 100 degree heat packed in bleachers like sardines. The races are not sold out anymore so it is more enjoyable.

At most tracks I agree that the experience is better to be there but Daytona is too big to really follow all the action. I prefer to watch the superspeedway races on TV with DW muted and my Sirius radio on.
