Judged: 1 1 1 LOL! That's funny. My ex-boyfriend was an amature boxer for 2 years and a professional boxer for 1 year in Germany before moving to the states. There is no way I could take him by strangulation. If Gatti was in any kind of shape at all, I don't believe a 23 year old could strangle him. Strangling is hard to do for a woman and it would not be an effective way to try and kill a professional boxer. So I am not buying it, but to be in a room with a corpse for 10 hours and claim you didn't know it? ha, wrong answer! She is definitely involved with his murder, to what extent I don't know. By the looks of your pics with your wife, I don't think she could take you by strangulation either! lol |

My own feeling on this is that Arturo Gatti was killed by his wife alone in the early hours of July 11...and THEN she got someone to help her appear like it looked like suicide.
It looks doubtful that she had help in the actual killing of Gatti due to the police stating that no-one was seen entering apart from Arturo and his wife, plus I really doubt hired-help would have suggested a leather purse-strap. As for a 120lb woman not being able to do this, well all I can say is I'm 6'3", 210lb, pretty fit & strong and I know when I get drunk & pass out, I'm out for the count...add to this a blow to the back of the head with a sharp instrument...it wouldn't take a lot for a petite woman to strangle any man to death if they were lying face down, pro-athlete or not. (if you dispute this, get any of your friends to give you a sleeper-hold from behind and see how long it takes for you a lose consciousness) I suspect Amanda Gatti 'snapped' after the history of abuse she'd had from Arturo, the threats of him wanting to divorce her, loss of lifestyle, etc - that final public altercation at the bar on the night was probably the final straw and she killed him in a rage back at the apartment. She then probably panicked at what she'd done and during the 10-hour 'missing period' tried to make it look like a suicide with the help of another guy (paid off?). If however, she's guilty, pre-meditated murder would mean 20-25 years - but if she plays the 'battered-wife-in-crime-of-pas sion' card, then it's more like 3-5 years. The worst thing about Gatti's senseless death is that I wouldn't be at all surprised if she got away with it, scott-free. |

Librahoppa, It's unthinkable, I know...but it's just one more possibility given that: a) the police were backtracking over their initial 'yep-she-did-it-we're-taking-h er-down' accusation to 'hang-on-the-coroner-said-it-m ight-have-been-suicide-which-m eans-we've-got-some-work-to-do '. Suicide it clearly wasn't. But for some reason this suggestion has been forwarded. b) South American authorities are know to be rather too unopposed when financial 'backhanders' are involved. BTW, it's been 2 weeks passed since the murder was committed and it's all gone quiet on this case..? |

Judged: 1 1 1 Really, wow, I didn't know that...*sarcasm*. Those are the most recent news articles relating to Gatti's wife, the others are about his funeral in Montreal and the memorial in New Jersey. When they have an update, I am sure we will hear about it. Fact remains, they now are not sure if it was murder or suicide. Hense my posting the more recent articles. I am surprised there hasn't been anything new, according to the one article, the authorities had until the 22nd to release evidence, but it had been extended. |

Judged: 2 2 1 Ok, there was some news released just about an hour ago and the Brazilian Authorities are now saying Gatti committed suicide. They found him hanging from the ceiling, now they are releasing his wife because they don't think she could have lifted him up to the ceiling on her own. I wonder what his frame of mind was for the last month leading up to his death, was he depressed? talking about suicide? His family says he wasn't. You are right though, South American Authorities are known for their corruptive police tactics, so I can see why think that his wife would have gotten off scott-free. |
