NASCAR has a new rule for the chase this year, it's the "Post Race Inspection Lucky Dog"; unfortunately for 11 out of 12 "Chasers" it only applies to Jr.

kenseth won the championship one year without winning a race. That was before the point system was put into place.

Kenseth finished 90 points ahead of Johnson to win the championship in 2003. He did have 1 win, plus 11 top fives and 25 top tens. The opener at Daytona was the only race outside of that where he finished 20th that year. That was the last year for the Winston Cup.
