we were just there. It was actually very easy to find. From I-5 and I believe elsewhere, you can follow the signs to north island........very easy to find!

Can you get to the 118 west? You have two easy choices I-5 or the I-15. Suggest you use the I-5

Take the 118 to the I-5 south

Take the I-5 all the way to the Coronado bay bridge

cross the bridge into Coronado.

Continue straight until you see the wall and turn left then right on to North Island Naval Air Station.

Be reminded that Kitty Hawk is moored at North Island, however you may be confused by the

USS Midway museum moored at broad way pier in Downtown San Diego.

Once you get across the Coronado bridge you should have no problem.

Make sure you get there in plenty of time, you will need to get thru pass and ID. Make sure you have Drivers license, Registration, and proof of insurance.

I was on the Kitty Hawk from 11/67 to 06/68. She was a great ship then and still is the best ship.
I was attached to VAW-114. I think the Navy should keep the Kitty Hawk legacy going by building a new CVN-63 Kitty Hawk. Good Bye old girl.
