Qur'an burning is a political, not a theological, issue

Full story: The Toronto Star

Sorry, it was a mistake, an inadvertent one - due to ignorance, not malice, really.

from The Toronto Star:

"The crime is not the burning per se. The first burning of the holy book was done officially during the seventh century reign of Islam’s third caliph Uthman.

"According to Muslim tradition, the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (570-632) by Archangel Gabriel over two decades. Not being literate, he dictated the received words to scribes who wrote it on bark, bones, stones, hides and date palm leaves. His successors saw the need to compile one correct version. That done, Uthman ordered the parchments burnt.

"Supervised burning remains a prescribed way of disposing of old copies or print-runs with typos, the others being burying or, lately, shredding and recycling ...."

... all acomplished without any rioting.

No, those ignorant muslimes rioting and murdering over a few worthless books isn't bliss. Someone should knock some sense into those idiots.

@Ravenclaw worthless books? Idiots? l am quite astounded you can actually use an electronic device and type that statement.even an atheist that may not believe an a omnipotent being or a politically ignorant hermit acknowledges the power that a holy book holds over one who believes in it, and understands how the voice/actions of a few can change the world. Than again maybe I'm the fool feeding this emotional statement made by a person who lives in relative safety and ease of North America, not having to worry about soldiers from multiple factions intentionally targeting them as human Shields or dying a useless death and being called collateral damage.then the same people apologizing for the mistake are the same ones desecrating the only thing you have left which is your belief. Than again Mr Ravenclaw maybe you are a groupie of Mr Eric prince, Mr crusader for Christ himself,(Jesus was a carpenter not a mercenary),AKA chief hypocrite (training special police of tyrannical ISLAMIC states) anyways continue to support murder, mayhem and dedication of what is held dear to others.it will come back to haunt you.whether you are a soldier and your guilt haunts your sleep (blessings to those soldiers fighting for freedom of home and way of life , domestic and foreign.damn those bent on subjugation, colonization, or eradication of perceived inferior ideologies and ways of life) or a citizen of a democratic County that allows it's government to destroy other peoples lives.sooner or later it comes back. Than we become the collateral damage.

Wouldn't want to hold the actual murderers responsible for thier own actions now would we? Of course not, that doesn't fit with your little agenda. It sounds like you are acknowledging that muslimes lack self control...

Talk to me after you've grown up. Right now, you are as emotional as the muslimes murdering people over worthless books. The afghanis are burning American flags, should I respond the way they do and go murder some innocent people? Or should I be an adult and just ignore that stupidity?

I choose to be an adult and non-violent. Don't preach to me about Jesus, I don't follow any religious books. They have been in the hands of you men for far too long, and we can see what you men do with the 'truth'.

You can shove your inferior and violent ideology (and propaganda) right where the sun don't shine too!

IRANIAN GENERAL CALLS FOR BURNING THE WHITE HOUSE

"Nothing but burning the White House can relieve the wound of us, the Muslims, caused by the Burning of Quran in the US," he underscored.

"Their apology can be accepted only by hanging their commanders; hanging their commanders means an apology," he reiterated.

You should use paragraphs when having much to say. Such long writings are hard to read.

Look at Ravenclaw's response to you...paragraphed, concise, organized, and easy to read.

I feel sorry for you that grammar was not high on the curriculum at the Brooklyn School of Idgits.

Maybe Iran has in mind to use one of their dummies again like the one who threw a grenade at a tree in Thailand last week only to have the grenade bounce back to his feet and blowing off his legs.

Anyone know if Iranians can use matches or a lighter properly?

All joking aside, Iran is a cesspool of terror support.

It is a mistake to burn Quran books. People should learn it, as much as possible, in order to know what it says, and reject the hate messages written there.

It was a "boom box" bomb triggered by a 5 second hand grenade fuse, yet how he managed to have it "boomerang" back at him is beyond me; in any case, what's left of this hapless -- and legless -- Iranian national is in custody.

The thing is that in these Koran issues Extremists were exchanging written messages (the Korans were in the prison library).
