here is the problem

One could've gotten 30 years--got like 3 1/2---will serve less than 2
One could've gotten 20 years got 1-2--will serve 1 yr or less

Agreed. They will not serve the 5 yrs 3 mos or the 2 yrs 6 mos that they were dealt. Even if they did that isn't long enough to set any good example to make others feel the need to change their lifestyles drastically. Our justice system is a joke with an emphasis on the courts.
