I don't think he should have gone to prison over it either for what he was charged. I could see TennCare fraud or something if that was the case, but this would be like if you gave someone over the counter medication and they ended up overdosing. I think a lot of the responsibility should lie on the consumer of the substance.

The problem is people don't want to accept responsibility for thier own actions. He would have gotten his drugs from somewhere else or stole them from his companion here.

This "sharing prescription medication" charge sounds like something they have come up with in cases where they can't prove the person was selling the drug. The fact that they were at one of the budget motels is going to make law enforcement think it was a drug deal because drug dealers are known for renting rooms at these motels every weekend and using them for drug selling.

Barry was a Morristown police officer who was relieved of his duties for what Roger Overholt said was a casual exchange. No one died in this case.Well it wasn't a case cause nothing was done to Barry except being relieved of his duties.

Still the dead guy's own fault for not asking about it if it was his first time using it. You have to kepp it a secret in this town if you get any pain pills from the doctor.

I do know the facts. He was a druggie. He over dosed. He was partying (you just said so) and ODed. That's called being a druggie.

And again I say, yes I do. He was using drugs. You can call him what you want. I call a person who uses drugs a druggie. Somehow I doubt this was the first time he had done this.

You said yourself he was partying. People who party with drugs and drinking and called druggies.

well i know brad hes my cousin.and from what he has told his dad is that yes they was partying he went to go to bed and his friend got into brads meds that brad had hid under his pillow.brad wasnt a druggie yes he partyed. but he is not a drug dealer.its not his fault that john got into brads meds after brad went to bed.he is going to be in prison .but thats never going to take away that his meds is what took his friends life.thats something hes going to have to live with the res of his life.im sad for him and for john th man that lost his lifethis is a proven point.people shouldnt take meds not prescribed to them.

If you PARTY by getting high or taking drugs for your little party fest then you are a druggie. Nobody said anything about the man who was prescribed the meds being a dealer. I do not believe he had them hid under his pillow and the other guy got into them. They were PARTYING TOGETHER AND TAKING THE DRUGS NO MATTER HOW THEY CAME TO HAVE THEM and one of them didn't survive.

That's how it is.

It's bad that he died - but I do not feel sorry for people who abuse drugs and then die from their stupid choices.

ok i have partied myself with both brad and john and knew them both very well. so for all of you that want to claim that they were not "druggies" you are very very mistaken. they have both used drugs for years and years. i agree that it is not right for brad to serve time in prison for a choice that john made.
