Maybe, but it's really going to rub a lot of salt into the victims' wounds and the families, too. I was just expressing frustration. My heart goes out to them all, tho. The words you are posting leave the impression on me that you need to turn yourself in, and seek professional help, before you spaz out and we have a repeat of this tragedy.

The theater where this shooting happened is about a mile from my house. I've been there many times. I heard the sirens. I'm not any more afraid of getting shot than I was last week. I am very afraid of the anti gun lobby though.

It is a fact that in countries where the population is part of the militia and every household is required to be armed the crime rate is far far lower than ours. In Washington DC where guns are virtually banned there are several murders by gun each week.

Bullet proof armor protects you from being killed but a bullet will still knock you down. It'll knock the wind out of you. You'll drop your gun. Unfortunately this was an audience full of young people most of whom have not reached a stage where they have seen enough of life to feel the need to protect themselves. I bet many of them that were in the audience that night will pursue a concealed carry permit and arm themselves now.

Gun laws will not prevent this kind of thing. Anybody can build a bomb with materials purchased at Home Depot. Should we outlaw Home Depot? How easy is it to derail a passenger train with a bomb? Do people honestly think they are safe because they have to remove their shoes to get on a plane? What about the guy hell bent on suicide that rams his car head on into a bus or into a crowd on a sidewalk?

The only thing that will protect us from this kind of tragedy is a cure for mental illness. Until that happens I'll defend my second amendment right to protect myself and keep my guns. I'm safer with them than without them.
