I doubt that they're on the payroll of the Feds. Maybe they've an FBI infiltrator somewhere.
I doubt the Feds have much interest in them one way or another.
Now if they were a REVOLUTIONARY party like the original Black Panthers, and with POPULAR support in the Black community (and even some outside), THEN the government would be concerned.
Their origin is within the NOI, which resides in the FBI's rectal region, so don't be surprised if there's more Fed involvement with the NBPP than is obvious.

They certainly are not a “movement” any more than the “Family Values Institute” or any of those conservative groups whose representatives appear on Fox News.

Yep. We need a thread in here to expose for everyone what the original BPP was up to... their program, their activities, their role in the community... quite inspirational actually.

How nice is such a group DID arise again... I would support them as I did the BPP then. But in today's climate, neither black nor white Yanks have the sense for anything so eminently rational and revolutionary. Frankly I'm surprised that Occupy hasn't already degenerated into an ecstasy rave.

In all seriousness, everyone should read about the original BPP, find out the truth. They were NOT like these “New” BPP clowns.

being an activist goes way beyond protesting and getting media attention. its not about "hating whitey" either. it is, however about self-defense, self knowledge, historical knowledge and the empowerment of ourselves through social, economical, educational, etc.. means.
Building viable institutions. Protesting is fine, even necessary. It just isn't enough. SNCC didn't only protest, but built "freedom schools", citizens voting leagues, and occasionally economic cooperative. ORIGINAL Panthers didn't just march and carry guns. The created breakfast programs for needy children, clinics, political education literary programs, newspapers, etc. You must protest, but you must also BUILD.

I'm thinking about creating such a thread after I finish this article on Frantz Fanon. I personally know Paul Coates, former head of the Black Panther Party in Bmore. I have periodic contact with Marshall Eddy Consway, former Bmore Panther leader still in prison (since 1970). Have known Paul Coates (now publisher of Black Classics Press) since I was an adolescent. Even know a former Panther whom I see once on awhile in Occupy gatherings.(I even know one former Panther who is now an social anarchist)
I'm going to go over some of the old literature before trying to start a thread. But I think such ought to be done. Much of what the 1960s Panthers were talking about then is still relevant now.

The original Black Panthers were inspired by Malcolm X. A Muslim guy.

This "new" panthers are less than kitties.

They seems more like KKK or current Tea Party.

What's needed is a REVOLUTIONARY CONSCIOUSNESS.

Only insofar as Malcolm X was a revoluionary. The original Black Panthers were deeply influenced by Black revolutionary philosopher-psychiatrist Frantz Fanon, especially by Fanon's THE WRETCHED OF THE EARTH. But Fanon was an atheist. Fanon's allies and friends were revolutionary Christians like Patrice Lumumba (a Roman Catholic) and revolutionary Muslims like Abbane Ramdan, leader and organizer of the famous "Battle of Algiers."
Fanon could care less what your religion was so long as you were creating sectarian divisions among the oppressed, and so long as you were engaged in the revolutionary struggle for the liberation of oppressed humanity, especially those oppressed by colonialism and imperialism.
Of the revolutionary thinker-activists of the Third World he iw perhaps the one with whom I most identify.
I was introduced to Fanon by former Panthers and other veterans of the movements of the 1960s & 70s.

Are you really this unaware? The New BPP is an NOI offshoot. It was created by Khalid Mohammed, notorious subhuman racist NOI scumbag, was it not?

KKK... yes, a hate group like the NOI, not much different other than a little pigment here and there...

Amen and órale to that! This fool Jahx is committing the usual NOI sin, trying to take credit for the BPP when in fact the NOI was indispensible to FBI efforts to destroy the original BPP.
I have not heard anything resembling revolutionary consciousness EVER come out of the vile NOI.

The destruction of the BPP is one of the USA's filthiest episodes, the government actively murdering among other crimes in order to destroy this non-violent group which did nothing more than exercise its alleged Constitutional right to engage in political activity. For shame!

And SHAME on Louis B. Farraklown guilty for conspiracy in the murders of many Panthers as well as Malcolm.

Even the original BPP were no angels but they did have a somewhat decent message and are nothign like this new NBP garbage.

Jorge"]Apaphis, you're spot on regarding the agents in the so called "nazi groups"..would've figured the new BP Party had them as well...too bad more paople can't see the bigger picture like we do in regards to what the govt. is really doing...can you say "smokescreen"?

Pretty much they just use the same old playbook every time. It's just another distraction until they get all their pieces in place.

You have a real smart mouth and a know-it-all attitude. Why don't you get out of here and go spray primer on a Toyota Corolla, Ese.
