Our president and congress still "embrace" free trade, our jobs still go to foreign countries, we do not perform any safety inspections on imports and "American" companies keep moving out of the country. Whose fault is this really?

Maybe it's time to drop trade with this country. Maybe it's also time to get all our land back from them. China owns a lot of American land. I think they plan to take over the country, enslave us and have the illegals be our slave masters...

We have trained first the Japanese, then the Taiwanese, then Koreans to do things right, but it appears that the chinese are making a joke of the idea. I wish I didn't have to buy anything made in china. I just don't trust them. I guess that started when I walked thru a chinese restaurant kitchen, where the cook would spit into the wok to see if it was hot enough to cook something.A few years ago most chinese restaurants in Costa Rica closed down because the people would not eat in them after finding cleaned rats in walkin boxes of several restaurants.

Poison in toothpaste, poison in pet food, lead paint on children's toys, the list goes on.
Can this be an accident?
Or is it just too many things.

I think that rather than send over soldiers and bombs, they will kill America by selling us poisoned products. Better than war. No soldiers lost and we are paying them to die.

Think about it!

I listened to the head of Mattel Toys this morning. He said wages and costs have gone up considerly in China but, he has no intention of bringing their manufacturing plants back to the U.S. even though they are recalling millions of their toys made in China because of the lead content. In my way of thinking, it doesn't matter to these big companys what effect the products made in China do to our people. What matters is keeping these dangerous products out of the news so they can make big profits. It is disgusting.

It starts with the American consumer and sometimes greedy unions. Americans buy cheap, not quality. Not that some American products have been all that great sometimes. Some years ago at the (then) General Motors plant in Freemont California you would see cheap foreign imports sitting in the workers parking lot. Later the same workers got laid off for lack of GM sales. Whose to fault? Gm for not filling a market for a quality, but cheap vehicle? The Unions for asking for more and more pay and benefits? The american worker for lack of product loyalty? Plenty of room for blame all around.(And don't lay it just on Bush!)
Meanwhile, stop buying Chinese goods when it can be avoided.(Hard to do sometimes!)

I do not see anything new here. I recall things labled MADE IN JAPAN, OR TAIWAN, OR HONG KONG, were all considered junk long ago. If today's standards of testing were back then, I am sure they would have found similar complaints.

The Chinese should not be condemned so sharply. China is going througn some growing pains. Their quality control system will wake up to the world's demands.

How many of you recall the introduction of Japanes autos. Not only were they junk, rusted quickly, broke down often and caused so many auto accidents and deaths? Now, with their lessons behind them, they can not make enough cars fast enough for us.

Have we forgotten so soon Europes ban on Genetically Modified foods from the US? We can not have it both ways. Most things on purchases at Walmart, K Mart, Dollar Stores, Costco, mostly come from China. Are we going to boycott ourselves from going to those stores? Buying American products can assure us we have the highest standard in products where the greedy lawyers make sure we have to have excellent product liability. Buying non-American, well, most do not have our standards. Take the car industry as an example. Japan finally woke up and followed our standards and I think exceeded them.

If everyone can remember that there was a warning about 6 or 7 years ago that had to deal with crayons made in China. They were borderline toxic. With that, the lead paint and small pieces in the toys, and now the hotel / motel toothpaste, are they going after our youth? Let's see, huh?

STOP BUYING CHINESE CRAP if you can.

I think the topic is toothpaste.
Buy Johnson and Johnson.

The foreign car you can get a lemon just as American made.
Dodge is the best. Got a 1997 Ram with over 263000 miles on it and still running strong
