WE CANNOT REMAIN SILENT, THE BISHOPS SAID: "Ambushes, kidnappings, extortions, and 'revolutionary taxes' are taking place without any end in sight. "Unexplained killings and disappearances of journalists, labor, peasant and political leaders, and even of petty criminals take place apparently with impunity as only few perpetrators are brought to justice. Torture and fear tactics are being perpetrated." WE ARE "Deeply saddened and bothered by this deplorable situation we cannot remain silent." >>>>>>> >>> So, can a catholic solve this problem? Is that where it lies?

Double standard. The Catholic Archdiocese all over the world kept the secrets of "pedophiles priests" that happened in the past. How many cases were filed against them these past years that they have to pay millions to their abused victims. Lately, there is another grave abuses of thousands of children sheltered by Nuns & Priests in Ireland? When I was young attending mass, I heard gossips about a Priest with children. Well, those were gossips, but suddenly, the Priest was replaced and moved to another Parish. Perhaps, this is one reason why Priests are moving from one Parish to another? One Priest who young, newly ordained and started his Priesthood, fell in love wiht a single mother. He renounced his Priesthood. Moral of the story. Women, plese do not tempt the Priest. They're human beings. But there are Priests who are good and dedicated to their vow. I wish them well and good. Good Luck Bishops and Priests!

It concluded by encouraging people to "follow the path of peace" through "dialogue and openness." The conference added, "This means the path of repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation." Follow and peace to men of goodwill!!!

The search won't be over for a God fearing person to serve the Filipinos. At least a Catholic person already believes in God, specially Christ who suffer for the people. That is what our country needs. A true, responsible Catholic will help a lot if he or she chooses to serve the people. This is all just empty words. Nice - but empty words.
The catholic church is but part of the problem, not the solution.
This applies worldwide!

We've never seen the church much more being involved as it is right now. As an institution it has failed in as many aspects as you would care to mention. Why?
It is run by people. But this is another post.
It is us who are being urged here; be the needle and the nudge towards the solution.
Any takers.

People needs to repent from their sins. and then live in this by changing their behaviour and attitude. This includes repentance from catholicism. Repentance has little or nothing to do with nice words, sentimentality, table talks or professing morality. It's a personal thing before God, where the proud heart is getting humble. When people are proud about their sins they get hardened in their hearts, only able to do more evil. Such brings curses, not blessings, from God. The Philippines cannot continue in the way of pride any longer. You have been warned!

Geez....

When is the Filipino people ever going learn. Didnt they learn under Marcos or any other leader they threw out? Is the entire country brain dead or is it just me and the rest of the world that knows its not just a leader, its a whole culture thats corrupt right down to the village. Ive stated this many times but people want just one person to blame. Never mind the justice department, military, or any other branch of the government. Just change presidents and everything will be peaches and cream. What this country needs is a political and cultural enema. A complete flushing of all politicians and mindset of the people and replace it with HMMMMMMMMM lets see HONESTY!! and people having BALLS enough to make them accountable. Then I have another idea. Dont know how to start a successful country? How about taking business models from other countries like Singapore, Korea and Taiwan and apply to the Philippines, or is that too hard. First you need to set a few examples. Shoot the first people that try to scam like in China, a policy so to speak, your corrupt, you die, now that will get their attention not to do that.

Geez.... All religions are not true. Not all roads leads to heaven. Not all beliefs make you right before God. It is not wrong to point that out, it is right, and it is loving and caring. One should also not confuse boldness with the attacking of different beliefs.

The system is defective.
They are banking on Among Ed Panlilio, a priest, governor of Pampanga, to win as president and clean up the mess.
If he wins, can he really change the country for better...
Wishful thinking...

I have my suspicions that it will be similar to what happened in Paraguay with Lugo. So much more is needed than just a make up or change of facade! A revolution in the hearts of pinoy people!

When I was new here, a white lady invited me to her birthday, but mentioned that it would be potluck and if I can bring pancit? I was surprised and thought it was weird. O'Reiley, a popular TV announcer mentioned about his recent trip to Zuitzerland. He is impressed of the place (very clean) and was talking of your health system which he mentioned everybody buys his own insurance and those who could not afford are help by the government. Population is not much. If you're living there and have a job, your good.
