my uncle was able to call me just now after 4 days of me trying to contact him to no avail. Death toll is over a hundred(not accurate), no power, water and telephones(his celfone was able to make outgoing calls just now) and water from the neighbors deep well. Food is also scarce(he has been living on canned goods for a few days now). Considering our house is built on high ground and is raised, he told me that the flood and mud reached up to the top of our piano(that would mean that the flood and mud was around 9-10feet high. Ive been monitoring news for this but cant seem to find any. let us pray for everyones safety and send some relief goods to help out

i heard that abs-cbn team are going to aklan tomorrow to bring aid, especially some water, which is good news..bad news is water and rice are being sold in very high prices..laserna was hit very badly..at least it has stopped raining and everyone is helping each other to recover from this disaster...i have plenty of family all around kalibo..they are safe but the houses were damaged considerably..we can pray for their safety and health because it will be terribly hard for them in this present situation..godbless to all affected by this.

My grandmother is there in Kalibo with my relatives. Were here in Manila & upon receiving the news, my Dad was able to send relief goods and other important things through PAL. The same day, the package was received.

my boyfriend and his family were greatly affected by typhoon frank. the last time i talked to my boyfriend's sis, she said their house was a total disaster. supplies were running out. they also said they just charge their celphones at the market and simply pay 50 pesos. but thAt can't go on forever!.. i just hope people assigned there will do their job properly. no corruption involved.

hello, no more entries being posted, also mine?
Information is important for helping!
Last midnight people in New Buswang were alarmed of another baha coming, but thank God not until this hour.
Does anyone know about that?
According to weather forecast it may be heavily raining from 8-10 pm tonight?
According to a kind person who emailed me, itīs better to mail my (20kg) care-package not via post office, but to the Balikbayan-box there,- but will my friends get it, and not have to pay customs? Whatīs the address and number of that box?
I was also told, there was a mild earthquake there?-
Pacman is supposedly appearing in front of Kalibo citizens today.-
Where can my friends get Leptospirosis and Typhoid shots?
When will medicine be given to the public, how will they find out?
I read of another Leptospirosis death in town today.
Thanks, Ingat

Jevinel, my wife is a Carrillo from Kalibo. Just saw your post last nite, so I hope you have found out more information. What I have been able to find out is that your Grandma is ok, but there is damages to the housing in Bulwang. There is still mud and debris throughout the Kalibo area. Food is in short supply, but, there is relief effort still arriving. Heard that the USS Ronald Regan, U.S. aircraft carrier is providing relieft supplies via Kalibo airport...will pass on more as I find out.

Ranger Maxino, salamat for the update about my grandmother. last I heard is that they were able to get some relief goods through abs-cbn, it's a blessing since my Auntie Sylvia Quinesio is affiliated with the network. Kuya, any news you can find out or updates will greatly be appreciated. I look forward to reading more from folks that can send information about Kalibo and the aftermath of typhoon Frank.

Jevinel, Emmy got hold of our hotel manager at
C-9 in Kalibo. The Red Cross is staying there as its one of the few places that has water and generator. There is also an engineer for the electrical district there and water system folks, evaluating the damage and trying to make a plan. Food is still in short supply, but, coming in from donations and PI government. Have put out word on your family to pass on any info and to contact you at their soonest. Our manager also said it will be years until Kalibo is back to normal....more to all concerned on a followup post.....

General info what I have heard from Kalibo....The area around and past the airport, the barrios, apparently have suffered little damaage. There is rice in this area. The excessie mud came from the mts of part of Maadalag and Washington area. At the C-9 lodge the water was about 7 feet high, at the highest. Residual mud is any where from 6-12 inches deep. Clean-up is progressing....food expensive, but relief is continuing. Have not been able to get pics, but, trying to get in contact with my friend at SMART or GLOBE for some internet contact....more when available. And pardons for the local spellings...Emmy is dictating and I am typing....
