Y'know how people say that cat's aren't prone to do things just to annoy you? This morning I was in the bathroom and where I was, Ling-ling couldn't get to her dry food bowl without walking around me. I picked up the bowl and sat it in front of her, she looked at me, the bowl, and then proceeded to make a production about walking around me, got to the spot where her food bowl usually is, picked up and ate ONE PIECE of dry food, looked up and glared at me and walked into the other room.
Sigh.
I guess cat's really can't get good help these days.
Had a Manx with a tail shaped like a 4...

Wiggled the tail in 4 directions at once...

Great handle...Liked his tail played with...

Bought him some generic cat food once...He ate it down to about two pounds left...

Bought a new bag of purina cat chow...his favorite...

He ran in and started tearing open the New bag of food...

So I gave him a bowl of the leftover generic...

He waited til I walked away and promptly took a "dump" on the generic...

So I put him out (by am I dumb)...

He ran around the house,
Found an open window,
Jumped back in,
And started tearing open the new bag of cat chow...

I got the message...

He was telling me the "generic" wasn't worth poop...

And demanded the fresh Cat Chow...

Lol! For my cat (Paris), it's boxes. She once stuck her head through the rather small opening in a Pepsi 12 pack box. It became stuck on her head and I had to remove it!
Had a tortoise shell Manx (stumpy...one tail bone)...

Got her head stuck in a plastic bag handle one night...

Before we knew it, this little ball of pure muscle was running from one end of the house up the stairs to the other end and then back...

With the bag stuck over her neck...

Back and forth 4 times before I caught her on the stairs and was able to get the bag off...

Ahh yes, my favorite is lets meow the house down because we are hungry...which starts at 6:30 am this morning...I get up shuffle downstairs, all the while she still is meowing and running after me, I put food in her dish and fresh water put it front of her...she sniffs, looks at it sits down and than looks at me like..."Are you kidding me??" Gets up and walks away....I fall for it every time.....
5 AM the scratching begins...

Doesn't stop til I get my rear out of bed...

Straight downstairs...No cat...

Back upstairs and he is sitting in the stairwell talking to me....

Now he follows me down...

And heads for the food...

Eats for 10 minutes and goes out...

If this ritual is not followed...

He will start all over again with the scratching...

LOLOLOL!!! How funny!!!!! Are the two of them getting along now?
I love wearing long broomstick skirts, but seldom do.(Being physically graceful is NOT one of my attributes! Neither is being socially graceful, but that's another story!) I did wear a long dress for our wedding in July and Bocci would NOT leave the hem alone! She chased me all day long. And of course, the hose went in the garbage at the end of the day due to kitty-claw-runs.
My beloved Sophia is very very ill. She seems to be in kidney failure. Please keep her close to your heart, not so much that she be healed, but that whichever road she takes, that she is not in pain and at peace. She and I had a long talk last night, I took the time to tell her how much she's meant to me and how much joy she's brought to my life. I'll be working from home tomorrow (Friday)as I suspect it's the make or break day.
Mama, I am so sorry that Sophia is ill. I will most definetely keep her close in my thoughts and in my heart and hold onto the wish that whatever path she takes is pain free and peaceful. I will also hold you close and hope that your path and Sophia's path cross again. I am heading into work, and hope that your day today is filled with peace and calmness. She was blessed to have you as a mother/owner.

All my best,
SU

It isn't a pretty story, but here is how I came by our Oliver, now a rather large and very handsome black and white cat. Mostly white.
One day I spotted a little kitten, very dirty, sitting on the bird table eating the nuts. He was that hungry. Naturally enough, I took him some food out and a warm drink. I continued feeding him outside for a week, he came at set times and I put a bed in the garden chalet for him.
One day he didn't come. Two days went by, then I saw an unrecognisable bloodied object sitting on the patio staring at the kitchen window.
Close examination confirmed it was the little stray cat. Straight to the Vets, where it was discovered that he had been shot with an air rifle, not once but five times, which meant he had to have been held or trapped. He was certainly left for dead. But he didn't die, he laid low and dragged his way back to where he had been fed and shown love.
Oliver lost one eye, but as the Vet said "cats can get by quite happily with one, or minus the odd limb, unlike we mere humans".
Oliver is the most playful cat imaginable. He loves his tower, and shows off to the others, he is the clown of the group I have. He keeps his white particularly clean, and has recovered from this atrocity, thanks to a wonderful Vet and needless to say, lives indoors and is a joy to have around.
p.s. I found the culprit and the Police and RSPCA paid him a visit. No proof sadly, but
no more such attacks since then.

Thank god this "knuckle dragger" didn't catch the culprit...We don't cotton much to abuse here...

You did a good thing...Hopefully this was a one time occurrence and your "culprit" grew up fast once caught...

Our youngest is part Bengal and part ?...

Found her at 4-5 weeks under the tire of my wife's car...

Wife asked if I heard a cat, and when I looked under the car, this little furball was curled up sitting behind the tire...of course we picked her up (didn't roll over her)...Her eyes were swollen shut...Probably got lost from her mom...

Pure wild animal....Had to cup her in the crook of my arm to keep her calm at the vet...Had to be mom until her eyes recovered...

Very dedicated animal...But still can't pet her with out growls, hissing, spitting, and of course my favorite...Wrapping around my forearm and laying on of teeth...

She will dent my skin with her fangs and just stop and look at me as if to say, "You know I could do it"...Then turn loose and walk away...

Then jump back up and start again...

Sleeps in my lap...but won't let us touch her...

Grrrrrrrrrrrr at the one who hurt Oliver. I would really like to see those crimes taken far more seriously and with much greater penalty, considering what we know about cruelty to animals frequently being a good indicator of other seriously bad things. Glad to hear he is enjoying a full recovery.

Furry bums...lol
My wife's cat died at 21+ from a brain tumor...
Kept her well until she couldn't walk...
We owed her a lot...
Crazy guy broke into wife's apartment in '76...
Cat jumped up on the bed right in between wife and intruder and woke the wife and went feline on the intruder...
Guy freaked and ran away...
Another stray that just showed up one day...
That is a great story! Your wife was lucky to have her. I don't think my cats would protect us, they would turn tail and run!

We have a Bengal and she is mean! She's nice when she wants to be, she sleeps with us, but if we were to accidentally touch her with a body part while sleeping, she bites! The funny thing about her is, she loves the kids. She tolerates them carrying her around and kissing her. If I just touch her wrong, she'll hit me!
Your poor little kitty. I can't believe people. Such a sad thing.

You never know...If my daughter and I are home alone at night and there is a loud noise outside..here comes Kitty to stand beside us and she growls really loud, bless her heart...which is really funny because anytime company comes over Kitty is hidding somewhere in the house and she will not come out until they leave....go figure

<quoted text>
Had a "Morris" cat that came with no eyes...
Born with his eyes open and then they just dried out and left two big dark empty holes...Creepy...
Told him it was up to him...Had 3 brothers with cataracts...
Watched him pace off the whole house...
Run to the wall
Turn left
Along the wall to the hall
Turn right
Down the hall to the first open door
Run in and just wait...
Then the fun...He would pace off the path he just made and wait for one of the brothers...
Pounce and smack 3 or 4 times...
Then run with the victim right on his tail...
Run to the wall...
along the wall...
down the hall to the first room...
Run in and wait the 2 seconds it took for his bro to catch up...
As soon as bro rounded the doorway, Jose (Yes after Jose F.) would pounce again and disappear...
He could triangulate grasshoppers...
He'd wait til one landed near him and then as soon as it hopped...He did too...Right on top of it and ate it...
No one believed he had no eyes...
What a great story! Animals are amazingly unlimited by what we humans call disabilities.

We just got back from putting Sophia down. This morning she couldn't even get up and seemed so cold and uncomfortable. I know I did the right thing. Poor timid Sophia who was so scared of everything outside the house barely moved.

She never ever let me hold her like a baby or up against me, but she did today. Maybe it's human wishing, but she seemed to understand when I told her they would help her.

Afterwards, we stopped at a store to pick up milk, and while Scott was in the store, a feather came drifting down out of the sky. I didn't see a bird anywhere around. I want to think it was Sophia letting me know her spirit has flown free of her body.

Thanks for all the good wishes.
