Analysis: Romney to voters: Trust me on details

Full story: SFGate

Republicans wrapped up their "trust me" convention Thursday, sending presidential nominee Mitt Romney into the final weeks of a campaign that is long on promises and strikingly short on details.

Dear Mitt,
Unlike many I don't want to join in a stampede and go off a cliff. I've read you "Plans" on you website and those of your running mate too. Although there are some tantalizing ideas, your proposals are not convincing, WHY, you ask. The have no detail, everyone must make numerious assumptions. I guess that is good for the lemmings, they can believe you agree with them and they will vote for you for it. I'm not so gullable. I want to know what you are going to do. I know you can't do the ideal and give us the text of legislation that will be introduced on your behalf, but you can tell us much more that is on your website. Start with the deductions and credits that must be removed to offset the revenue loss from a 20% cut in marginal income tax rates.
Americans need to remember the words of a former president, "Trust but Verify" I'm waiting to verfiy.

Mitt Romney will tell us the hard truths we need to hear to end the torrent of debt that is compromising our future and burying our economy," New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said in the keynote address. "Our problems are big, and the solutions will not be painless."

But who, specifically, will suffer pain, and what kind of pain? Romney has not said.

That's easy, re-instituting Reaganomics, the middle class.

Who needs details? Just trust me. As a man of wealth and taste I know what's best for the little people. I've spent many years in my ivory tower cooking up ideas for your lives and maintaining my fabulous tan!

And just why DO YOU PEOPLE demand the details? How dare you peons question the validity of my ideas!

I wouldn't give you people the time of day if we had bumped into one another.....But I NEED YOUR VOTE!

TRUST ME!

VOTE ROMNEY/RYAN 2012 and see just what we'll do for the world's one percent.

Finally we will have trust worthy leadership in Washington. Why I bet none of Mitt's cabinet will be tax evaders. It was so good to listen to the speeches, and hear the people speak with pride about our Nation. Next week we can listen to the whinny, crying about not getting enough free stuff. I hear Hillary isn't going to their Convention. Is Bill going? No big names for them? I am taping tonight so I can listen to Gov Romney, and Clint Eastwood. He will make our day!!

Oh yes, Mitt. Tell us how to solve the Nations problems so Obama can steal some of your ideas, and do something worth while before he leaves town. Never mind. He wouldn't take your advise anyway. But you hurry, and get ready for the big party January 20, 2013.

Ha ha ha. Tax evaders??? Thanks for bringing that up, Cat. Where are Mitt's tax returns???? We all want to know what Mitt pays. And BTW ... which Mitt are we suppose to believe. The guy flip-flops so much I'm not sure he even knows what he stands for anymore ...other than profits, of course. Don't you find it unreal he picked Ryan the liar? "Trust us: Flip-flop & Liar". That sure builds confidence, doesn't it??? Hey Cat, could you please define for the rest of us what non-forcible rape is??? Paul Ryan wanted to distinguish forcible rape ... so I guess that would be non-forcible. But what exactly is that? Eagerly awaiting your reply.

Mitt has shifty eyes. He is Mr. Etch-a Sketch. Which side of his face does he want us to trust? Details or get off the stage, Willard.

Mitt will show his second tax return before the election, and that is all that is expected. It is not necessary to give a bunch of people who are mostly tax takers, not tax payers your tax return. BTW, the single Democrat mommas are all upset, because they don't want children at the DNC Convention, They don't have any day care for the children. What's a poor single mom to do? Stay home, and watch the fun on T V? It is enough to make them vote for the Republicans. They have day care, and there were many children on the floor tonight. Of course Republican children are well behaved.

I saw the speech Romney made, and he made more sense in a few minutes tonight then Obama has made in 3 1/2 years. He will make a wonderful President. The whole Romney family will make us proud again.Hell, even Jeb Bush made more sense then Barack Hussein Obama. He looke so good. We have so many great leaders.

First of all, Mitt is NOT a tax evader. He paid his taxes, unlike Obama's choice for Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner who failed to pay Social Security and Medicare taxes while working at the International Monetary Fund.

Second is your question of non-forcible rape. When a 18 year old boy engages in sex with his 17 year old girlfriend, it is called statuatory rape. She may have been a willing participant, maybe even ejoying it, but because of her age (as a minor), it is called rape.

Mitt did not play the Chicago game of 'react to accusation', with guilt. That may not be his nature.
The DNC Party will be watched closely, not reported honestly. Unless they collect cell phones at the entrance they will have no control.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Scorpio

You're in a very romantic and sentimental state today. You're also feeling quite sensitive and vulnerable, so you won't want to be around anyone you find abrasive or aggressive. If you meet someone for the first time now you'll think they're wonderful and your relationship will always involve putting them on a pedestal. But don't be too idealistic. They are human, remember!
