The points made in this article are an obvious Republican effort to derail and malign the entire notion of national health care. It is strange, but I work in the government health care field and when the conservatives need help - not only don't they hesitate to ask the government for help, they righteously demand it ! They are the first to find themselves lawyers to protect their assets and qualify themselves and their parents for government assistance. Get real America, we are one of the only westernized nations that does not offer basic health care coverage to its citizens. We always carp about how other countries don't value human lives...I'd argue we are worse than many 2nd and 3rd world nations. The right to have a healthy existence is basic, like eating and drinking clean water. If we can afford TRILLIONS on war and bombing other countries, why can't we afford to take care of our own people ? I have trouble feeling sorry about additonal taxes on those making over
$ 500,000 or the family of four making $ 5 million dollars (mentioned in the article). Sorry, but if you are making that much money you owe something back to the country that made you rich on the back of its citizens. I for one would rather see my taxes go to immunize children and take care of our elderly than to pay for bombs and tanks. Lets start taking care of our own !
