2 Typical dems. How about dropping those who have been on unemployment for years and decades, as it's obvious that they have never even tried to find work. |

1 How you like that program now, Bunky? The recipients are laughing their butts off as they relocate to the Mainland. Those millions could have paid all these expenses but noooooo....gave them away for promises. Such fools. You keep re-electing these clowns! |

1 This doesn't include those state employees who loss their jobs, and don't qualify for unemployement benefits. For those who do, according to this article they won't for long if nothing is done. The State's philosophy of "sharing the burden" is indded having a profound effect in the entire food chain for the residents of Hawaii. Keep in mind, there are a few states in the nation who not only saw the magnitude of this economic collapse and planned and exercised prudent conservative fiscal administration to avoid or minimize the adverse impacts. The State of Hawaii apparently did not. Hopefully, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii county utilized this time to watch how the State government doing as they themselves are not immune to the threat of furloughs, layoffs, and program cuts. Unemployed across public and private sectors, publicized or not, are real. Statistics don't show the real struggles going on out there. Any complaints about increases in taxes, are also across the board as we ALL pay increase in county, state AND Federal taxes. |

1 I continue to wonder about comments like this. There are four or five republicans in the entire state governement and yet it still their fault. Laws are made in the legislature and the State has been contolled by Dems since 1959. Yet, its the Republican's fault. |

1 Your tax exempetion, tax free benefits, given to not for profits like the Elks Club is a disgusting example of your foolishness and stupidity. You are funding cheap beer to drunks and alcoholics that need their insurance benefits rather than a "bud light". Other are drowning and you SOB's throw a life line to criminals under HRS 237. Audit the State Tax Department. Fraud...he entire tax system is based on fraud and deception and the State does not give a damn. |

No China is a Dubai replay on a larger scale. If the US defaults the Yuan gets stronger their only competitive advantage disappears. They will collapse and a collapse of a thrid world population is not pretty. |

The State does not want you to share the burden. The State is lazy and uncaring. That sharing the burden stuff is pure baloney. State is not doing their job.
Who in this state is doing investiation of HRS 237 violations? Anyone! Deputy AG Hugh Jones...people are starving. Being furloughed. Unemployment compensation to go over the top. Are you awake or are you taking one of those government "naps". And the worst is still ahead of us. What the heck are you doing. call me :Bryant Carvalho, we can build a crew and go after these willful violators. |

2 Meanwhile the Micronesian are flocking to the islands in ever increasing numbers to scoop up free benefits and entitlements provided by the state of Hawaii. Benefits and perks handed out by the state, not the U.S. federal government. Recent articles indicate that Micronesians receive nearly a 100 million dollars a year in free health care and welfare benefits. Bottom line - Extravagant benefits for Micronesians, suffering for our own ohana. |
