York usually goes Republican, so it's a tough sell, But any Democrat has my vote. Organize, get the young voters working for you, use FB, twitter, whatever you need to do. It's time to change the demographics of this too conservative region.

Sentiments like that are what got the current President elected...Hope and change...how's that 10.2% unemployment rate working for you? Trillions of dollars of debt and higher taxes and monster inflation in the near future...go ahead, vote for any Democrat.

There aren't too many reps who are as non-confrontational as Todd Platts. If this guy thinks he's going to go to Washington and be a get-along guy, especially as a Democrat, he's living in a fantasy world. The Dems are masters of demonization and personal destruction.

I just don't understand how a small business owner could possibly identify themselves as a Democrat. I would have respect for him if he were an independent and really meant what he said about bi-partisanship.
Personally I'd love to see this portion of the state remain conservative: fiscal responsibility, traditional family values, and promotion of individual freedoms - how is that a bad thing?

If he wants strong schools, solid roads and healthy families he should be running for either the local school board (strong schools), or the borough council (solid roads) I'm not sure what he can run for to get healthier families. Maybe he should consider being a gym teacher or a dietician. What I do know is that the first two issues he cited are local issues and – like healthcare they should not be dictated from some guy in Washington.

Just another idiot wasting his time running against Platts. He'd have a better chance to try pi$$ing up a rope!

Better focus on your business buddy....you'll need it to go back to after you LOSE.

Good luck to him. I'll be voting for him.

Funny how the Republicans weren't complaining about the debt when George W. Bush and the Republican Congress were running it up fighting a losing war in Iraq. Suddenly, they're penny pinchers when they aren't the ones slopping the trough for the Wall Street pigs.

Hey Steve, you've got some learning to do.

The Obama Administration has spent more money in their first 9 months than the Bush Administration did in their last SIX YEARS!

York usually goes Republican, are you serious? York always goes Demo-rat-ic (all 25 voters). York COUNTY ALWAYS goes Republican. Get the youth involved; they get arrested for takin' a whiz in the grass around York College by the York City Demo-rat-ic administration (while someone is being shot on the next street over). That ain't gonna' work. We bible carryin'/gun totin' "rurals" don't even know what FB/Twitter is! But we can detect a "snake in the grass" from a mile away. For the foreseeable future, we intend to keep the demographics of this region just the way they are; Rep. PLATTS understands the wishes of his constituents. By-The-Way (we don't understand that BTW stuff either), we've about had as much "CHANGE" as we can stomach in the PAST 10 MONTHS. Good luck...and above all, in these tough economic times, save your money on overthrow chances.

Wait until you hear him talk...this guy is an idiot!! he has as much chance as his girlfriend had in the spring when she ran for judge and came in LAST in the election (with his terrific guidance as her manager)- though probably even less of a chance since she at least ran as a republican. he couldn't get her elected, so now he's going to try to get on the ballot himself. keep dreamin'- no one wants either of you in office!

I don't think we can do much about all the hatred and anger I hear from the people who are posting. I'll pray for you... I read these posts and I realize it's way out of my hands... I'm just a regular every day person hoping for a better future. I am so excited about sending a regular person like me to Washington. I think we need term limits so more regular people can take our concerns to Washington and fight for the hard working people who ate struggling to pay 500-700 a month in health insurance... That's chump change to the millionaires in Washington... That's why they just don't get it.

I don't know how any small business owner in this country could possibly identify themselves as anything but an American.

Fiscal responsibility, family values and concern with individual freedoms are AMERICAN ideals my friend. You prove the point of his quote...to remind people that we're all on the same team!

Daily Horoscope for November 24

Virgo

If you've been under pressure lately, you might reach critical mass today. The sensitive Moon clashes with the Sun, adding an edge to the mood in your relationships. You're likely to bite your room-mate's head off if your head isn't bitten off first... try to find something to laugh about to ease the tension. Those of you in intimate relationships can channel all this wild energy into passionate encounters, so avoid senseless bickering.
