Connecticut need a lot of reform now!!!!!
take a good look at the probate reform bill, All it does is really close down courts and does not provide any protection for us, the end users. We need to be protected from Judges like Beverly Streit-kefals and others just like her that are to busy with their other business's that they don't have time to learn the probate laws. Shame on all of you who call this self serving bill reform. Maybe it time that we put someone other then a political hack in charge of the probate courts and the reform.

I hope that Ms. Bysiewicz spends her time running the Secretary of State's office instead of running her mouth. The lack of funding in the bill mandated that it be vetoed. Establishing entitlement programs without adequate funding is the kiss of death for any state - look at California at the brink of economic disaster.
Keep up the good work Governor Rell and don't be dissuaded by your adversaries and critics who are motivated by their personal agenda and ambitions.

Here's the deal. I worked my whole life, and now I'm laid off with no insurance. My wife and child have ins. through her job for about 8000 dollars a year. Obviously we cannot afford to put me on too. O.K. Now there are people born on welfare and then have kids who are also on welfare, and then they have kids who are on welfare too. This is just a fact. I don't care about the rich getting taxed, that is a false argument because while our wages went flat and then dropped and in some cases went away all together, the rich folks wages never stopped going up. This is also just a fact. I will find a job again and buy my overpriced and under covered, but until then I want some ins. My point is if there are generations of professional welfare collecters in Meriden, Htfd, and N.Haven, why can't I have some free or cheap ins. until I find another job? I hear some people say it's because I'm a white man. I always rejected the point of view(pretty naive when your insured your whole life) but now I have to think this is somewhat true. I clearly do not make enough unemployment to purchase ins. since I make about 14000 a year collecting. If these people can collect for generations, making that a career or family business, why can't I get some ins.(no cash, foodstamps, or free rides to the doctor) for a year or so. I'm sure after 24 years of working I paid for a few city kids to buy 100 dollar sneakers, and their mom a Camry and an I-Phone. I just need a year and then I will buy more cars and clothes for those "less fortunate"???

Don't blame this on the people collecting welfare. The facts are we have sleazy pols like Senator Lieberman who have taken several million dollars in campaign cash from health insurance and continue to fight any kind of inexpensive public health insurance plan. 40 million Americans many of whom work or are dependents of people who work lack adequate access to health care because of sleazy pols like Lieberman. Call Lieberman's office up and demand that he vote for a public health care option!

I have called Liebermans office. As far as the people on welfare, I'm sure there are some real needs for some, but being a city dweller in Ct for almost 40 years, I know there is an effort to exhume all they can out of the system. This is why there is nothing left for me. I'm all for the public option, but to say that career welfare recipients are not a problem bleeding the system is idealistic but false. I also know with the economy this is not the time to reform welfare, but there has to be limits. O.K. a young woman gets pregnant from some loser not there to pay the bills, then she should get welfare till the kid goes to school and then off. She also shouldn't be able to collect more for longer for getting pregnant again. This is the way it is, my neighbor in Meriden two years ago collected welfare for herself, her daughter and her two grandchildren. She would make 3800 a month plus two foodstamp cards, free medical for all of them. The woman was 40. Till the kids go to school, and then off except for the medical coverage. I don't mean to sound cold because I'm not, but this is too much.

I believe in this reform more than any other legislation, federal or otherwise, thus far. I believe it is imperative to the future of our nation and the health of our citizens.

Health Care is not a right. Show me one piece of documentation that says health care is a right. IT ISN'T!!!

This number of anywhere from 40-50 million uninsured in this country is bogus.

This health care reform is all about power and you saps are all looking to give that power and your freedom up to the politicians.

The government can't even run Amtrak properly and you expect them to take care of your health needs? You have to be kidding.

You want health care reform, show me a politician that is will to back tort reform. Seems like if something goes wrong with an operation or anything a care giver dishes out that person is entitled to millions and millions of dollars. How did this come to be?

Get some tort refor going and you will see lawsuits drop, malpractice insurance rates drop and in turn your insurance rates will drop.

WAKE UP AMERICA. You are giving all your freedoms away.

Is the government going to spend billions on breathing machines or to keep the sick and/or elderly alive or are they going to dump it into Amtrak so big mouth Biden and go back forth to work?

Choo-Choo clowns.

Were you aware that the 40 million (and that is an extremely high estimate) includes illegals and people who are eligible but don't apply? It also includes people who won't purchase it. Tell me why people who work and pay for insurance (or not) don't get the benefits welfare recipiants do. I can't get glasses or brand-name prescriptions. Why should people who make welfare their careers do better than the working person? Why should those who refuse to work be able to have everything the working person has? Why do young, able-bodied males qualify for welfare, never mind women who have 50 kids? Welfare was supposed to be a temporary helping hand, not a generational hand-out. The laid-off poster should be able to get some help here.

Your description of welfare is perfect, this is the way welfare was supposed to work, it was a helping hand until people got back on their feet and got a job, now it is a career, some have 4 generations on welfare, the more kids they have the more money and food stamps, of course there are no fathers around to pay child support. It is our march towards Socialism under Obama that will bring down our country, what a shame.

Hey idiot, most of the 40 million people are American citizens or permanent residents and most are not on welfare. And in addition many of the rest of the people can't afford proper medical care because they can't afford mandated out of pocket costs the insurance companies refuse to pay for. We NEED a government plan now and to get rid of the corrupt private health insurance companies once and for all.

Keep in mind the revelation made yesterday that the presidents plan will include 10 million illegals who pay nothing into the syatem. Then whats next, Social Security for the 10 million? Our children and grandchildren will have nothing when this bozo gets done.

That is total baloney put out by the health insuarnce industry. When all else fails the right wing crooks that run the insurance industry trot out racism. There is a reason illegals are called undocumented aliens, as such it would be difficult for most of them to obtain government health insurance, they don't want ICE to locate them. And do you advocate turning someone away from an emergency room if their life is in imminent danger. Just shows how inhumane and just plain evil the people who oppose universal health care are. You are a sickening indivual!

Another racist heard from. The insurance companies are resorting to trolls claiming that illegals are the only ones who are going to benefit. Hey idiot there is a reason why illegals are often referred to as "undocumented." They don't have documents and officially they are not here and would be unable to even apply for it. The down side is when they are injured many end up in expensive emergency rooms. Of course I am sure bigoted jerks like yourself would rather see someone die in the street if someone is illegal. you certainly sound like a Nazi to me!

Wow, I can see you are totally brainwashed by the far left,(providing you have a brain), the White House has said that 10 million illegals will be covered under this plan, what follows, Social Security. The WORKING Americans can only carry so much of a load, everyone must pitch in and help themselves. No one would want a sick person turned away fron getting medical attention, this is a far left arguement. Come on lighten up, you are born with 2 thing only, one is a clean name, the other is the right to work hard and make something of yourself, no one has the right to a free ride. We are headed towards Socialism with this Bozo in charge. Say Hi to Obama and Pelosi when you see them.
