Traditional theologians, bible scholars accept sins of Sodom were homosexuality, this begs to be differed. Jude 1:7 Sodom and Gomorrah, they fornicated, went after strange flesh. Bible scholars debate the proper English interpretation of this passage. Most scholars feel it is a reference to homosexuality, some feel strange flesh refers to bestiality. It wouldn't be accurate to say it's homosexuality, the flesh a man handles first and most is his own, there is nothing strange of his anatomy. Eze 16:49) The sin of Sodom: arrogance, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy, they were haughty. The idea is paralleled when Jesus compares an inhospitable reception to Sodom: Ma 10:14) I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom the day of judgment. Institution's support extortion, excess, appear beautiful yet are full of all uncleanness, appear righteous yet are full of hypocrisy & iniquity, fools & blind, lovers of themselves. They take a child and turn them into a twofold child of hell! They bind heavy burdens and cause grief & as of late they lay that squarely on homosexuals who need God as much as anyone else. They won't love their neighbors unless conditions are met by coercion. They love the uppermost room at feast & the leaders get attention given by blinded followers, seek power in markets & politics instead of seeking love "for" their neighbor. ONE is their Master yet they have many "popular". They won't be allowed in heaven & they stand in the way of those who could enter. Full of extortion, excess, tithe excessively & yet omit the weightier matters of the law (ten commandments) and faith, mercy, their own salvation Phil 2:12). Strain at a gnat (homosexuals) and yet swallow a camel. We've never seen other sinners constitutional rights taken from them in their home States. Attempt's to amend and "right" the common sins. We are at Sodom & Gomorrah, this doesn't fall squarely on Bush W's shoulders but also on the moral majority. I could see Jesus walking into the institutions and wiping the tables clean, throwing things around in an outrage over what they represent. Big dollars and unequalities, boastfulness, selfrighteousness. They are the Pharisee's, Saducee's & Scribes. The TRUE Sodom, they are Vipers & Snakes (serpents) in the grass. Ma 23rd chapter is dedicated to false institutions like we have today. Ma 10:15 & Ma 11:23 The self exaulted shall be brought down to hell for if the mighty works that were done for them, were done in Sodom, it would remain today, it wouldn't have been destroyed.
