You've probably failed to report or claimed deductions on your Federal Tax returns that makes this amount chump change. Quit bashing cops and look into a mirror.

No tax dollars were lost and none used. Probably more were wasted on this head hunting by the Inspector General. They wanted Collins out so they sued this BS to do so. The money came from the sale of patrol logo items etc so they raised the money themselves so who cares how they spent it on dinners for patrol brass etc.

I have a question, who inspects and digs into the procedures of The Inspector General, Thomas Charles? We are talking about very small amounts of monies here. I know I know, ALL money should be accounted, but WE, the taxpayers spent WAAAAY more than the $168 that is in question here on this witch hunt! Besides, was the meals $168 that was not properly recorded allowable expenditures? I am sure they were. So, Thomas Charles, Inspector General, just wasted ALOT of taxpayers money.

It is not the amount of the crime, it's the fact that this sorry excuse for a public servant felt that it was his money to use any way he chose. I am sure this is not the only incident that this guy, and many others, in the state patrol department have done, that is either unethical or illegal! The good thing is that this pos resigned, and there are probably many more wearing this uniform that should! You must remember that these state patrol officers only issue tickets to UNFRIENDLIES! ARROGANT, USELESS TAXMONEY SUCKING DEPARTMENT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISBANDED YEARS AGO!

Tom Charles need to take a good look at himself in the mirror...it ain't a nice picture! You just tarnished the reputation of a man that gave the best years of his life in service to the people of Ohio; over what?$168. Peo[ple like you,Tom Charles, who enjoy the ruination of others need a lot of psychological help.

You have to understand that the Inspector General cannot open investigations on his own, he is specifically assigned to each case. While his office certainly spent more than $168 on this investigation, it shows that it wasn't any more involved than this. I don't personally think Collins was the real target, I think Guzman was behind all of this for personal/political reasons.

Charles would not have to keep using taxpayers funds if the Strickland Administration would quit doing sleazy things. Scandal a week......

There was no such requirement to destroy the records, and I know personaly that even if there WAS a requuirement, it would have been four prior years and current, for a total of 5 fiscal years of records and all times. Dickens knew exactly what he was doing when he did it. Pogibay money has always been a source of contention between those that knew it should be regulated and those who wanted it as a slush fund.

The Inspector General never goes after someone until they are out of office or politically ordered by the Governor. Check out the IG's record.

Okay so the state is $800 million in the red and they're bickering about $168.00? The auditors must have an awful lot of time on their hands. The auditors probably spent $500 in man hours to find that $168. Give me a break!
