Get used to it or start a revolution.
I'll go with a revolution while I'm still able ? The end result will be the same but we may be able to go down with a few notches on our belts. Does it really matter that you gave it a good try? It may get larger than you think.

THANK YOU REPUBLICANS TOM RIDGE AND HIS STATE HOUSE/ SENATE BACK IN 2001!!! Now why is this NOT being recinded??? My property is worth less money now since the real estate bubble has burst! When I purchased my property back then (2001) the total taxes were $1,600/ year, now i'm paying over $5,000. Why dont they lower my taxes since my property has depreciated back to those levels??? WHY ARE THEY GOING UP??? TIME FOR A REVOLT!!!

This cannot be! When this passed, Jeff Coy said this wouldn't cost the taxpayer a single dollar. Whatever Lord Coy says is so.

When the pension systems investments fail the taxpayer is asked to pick up the bill.

State teacher pensions are based on 30 percent investment return per year, which was the very best outcome of stocks during the 1997-2000 AOL tech bubble.

These are Bernie Madoff style figures. A more rational rate of return in this age would be .5 percent per year or less.

The taxpayer can not fund your Madoffian pension plan.

Fail they will, just like the steelworkers never knew how underfunded their pension plan was until it was too late. We're now picking up all the teachers higher education to a higher pay and medical benefits for life. It will end when the underfunding becomes so great the taxpayers and legislators that were paid to write these laws to forever pay the teachers pension plans will fall like a rock on psers ,legislators and teachers heads. Greedy fools ,payback is a b####.

Let the government pick up their pension plans, and they can buy their own health insurance instead of hanging it on people that can't afford their own.

Underfunded ? Check out how bad it is and how it's protected by state laws that have the taxpayer fund it . PSEA or PSERS Pennsylvania.

I steer clear of the natives. They seem to get restless over nothing and you never know when they will.
Home? Home is where you hang your hat, wear your hat and your always home.
Afghanistan is around the corner looks like. Maybe another year on top of the one I just got done with.

Who said there was anything fair about school taxes.

If you one kid you pay the same as a family with 2, 3, 4 or more kids. How is that fair?

If you are retired, you are still paying school taxes. How is that fair?

If you have no kids in the public schools you are still paying taxes. How is that fair?

There is nothing fair about the system.

The state is only worried about the big cities of Philly, Harrisburg & Pittsburgh. How is that fair?

These little townships/dutchies are more worried about keeping up with the Jones than doing the right thing.

Hey, shout out to all you guys...we are out of $$$$ and we are tired of paying for STUPID, non-essential stuff that is not going to amount to a hill of beans.
Hey school boards, here is something new for you, just say NO when it comes to the stupid stuff.
Football team wants lights. Then guess what, go hold some fundraisers and pay for them. BTW, also hold a couple fundraisers every year to pay the energy costs to go along with it. Do what you need to do but stop soaking me for every dime I have.
I'm tired of it!

School teachers go to work in private industry. I am tired of hearing your never ending complaints and never ending demands from the taxpayers.
You do know that goes both ways right? Teachers are asked to do the impossible with little to no support from parents. Yet everyone screams about performance.

I would agree to scrapping public schools, but then the government would have to mandate that you send your kids somewhere for education. Then the "poor" would have to get money from the government to send the kids to school. That would end up letting the "poor" get free education and the middle class foot the bill for them AND their own kid's education. How would that work? If schooling is NOT mandated you better bail out of every urban area because the streets will be flooded with kids running crazy in the streets.

Living in Jersey - RE taxes are near the top are at the top. I always thought that competition is great - meaning that you give people vouchers to go to the school of their choice. The average spent per child in NJ is around $15k in government schools. Good examples - Bishop Eustace tuition is about $10k and Camden Catholic is $6.5k. These are high schools - I am sure there are elementary schools that are less. No problem with allowing vouchers to anyone and provide the same opportunity. We compete for livlihood in any other facet - except government which is a monopoly.

The politicians don't get it. The elected school boards (politicians) don't get it.
We have over 10% unemployment (some claim much higher due to people coming off the rolls), we have electric bills that are set to go through the roof, we have higher gasoline just about every day, we have higher grocery bills.
We have a bunch of morons that are vying for National Health Care, Cap & Trade, Cssh for Klunkers, TARP, more and more spending bills and a country that is so far in debt it is ready for total collapse ahould the chinese ever call their loans.
We have a very vunerable dollar and we may be looking at skyrocketing inflation, years of high unemployment and possibly worse.
Do you really think any of these delusional idiots have a clue on how to work within their means and REDUCE spending.
It is time to stop the irresponsible madness.
