My mom added me to her American XPress account when I left for college (1996). I used it sparingly for emergencies during school. After college, I met and married my wife and we established our own line of joint credit. My mother recently died (March) and our American XPress account was at $400. That was all debt that she accrued prior to her death. Here's the question: Am I responsible for this debt even though it is not from my spending? I am receiving calls from collectors now and I don't mind settling for such a small amount. However, I am really stubborn also and part of me feels that I shouldn't be responsible for another's debt. Any help/suggestions on this one would be appreciated.

Hey call this company they can tell you especially since its in collections... they now have access to it.. The same thing kind of happened to me when I was 16 I was in the hospital and the bill was in my name but my parents were the responsible party.. well when I got out of collge on my own and got a credit card they found me and started calling me to pay the hospital bill balance that was left and it had been in collections I guess for years... But they eventually wrote it off I guess, I know it didn't go on my credit but they were calling and harrasing me for the longest time... but here is Paige's number

(800)873-9906 ext.#3769 promo code 249511 and her name is
Paige.

If your mother was the primary card holder then you should forward a cop of the death certificate to American Express. They will more than likely write it off.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Capricorn

Someone is in a finger-wagging mood and unfortunately they seem to be concentrating on you! Maybe they think you've fallen from grace for some reason, or perhaps you're simply the only person who happens to be around when they feel like letting off steam. Do your best not to fall into an equally critical and disgruntled mood, because it will soon make you feel wretched.
