66,000 South Floridians fail to file for stimulus checks

A good portion of them are homeless, Some are in hiding, And then, some of them are drug dealers also.

This was a stupid idea that did not stimulate anything. You congressional fools should have just cut taxes instead of making sure that people that pay no taxes got paid. Idiots.

Once again the fools on the left would be asking for lower taxes on people who are not paying any taxes at all. I especially like the earned income credit which basically amounts to the lower classes getting refunds of more money than they ever pay in taxes and yet the lefties still complain "it's not fair." Let's put in the European system where gas is $8.00 per gallon which includes $4.00 in taxes to pay for health care costs. At least in that case everyone shares the burdens equally and if you cannot afford it, you walk or ride a bicycle. Certainly would eliminate a bunch of old uninsured Toyotas driven by immigrants talking on celphones blocking the roads going 25 miles per hour in the left lane.

Have you seen the deficit clock. It's interesting to see that Bush and Congress have this mentality that we can spend endlessly while cutting taxes. Kind of like the homeowners did that are in foreclosure. Totally irresponsible, we need to raise taxes on the rich and the corporate thieves that are destroying the middle class to balance the budget. Republicans are responsible for one of the biggest middle class declines ever, that is a fact.

There's no hope with Obama, the democrats, or republicans. Our government is a mess.

If you owe back child support, or an overdue student loan (among other things), the government will keep the money and send you a "sorry, but...." letter

I did not earn any money last year. I need to be "bailed out" like Fanny and Freddy.

If you file, they can find you! Some people do not want to be found. This whole thing is a set-up for those that owe back taxes. The Government feels they will get greedy and come forward for the "free" money. Then they will get busted for back taxes.

if you are too stupid to file for the money, you shouldn't get any. Save the taxpayers a little . Maybe the reason they didn't file is because Big Brother is looking for them for other things.,

I was downsized two years ago. It cam at a good time because my father was terminally ill and I was able to be his caregiver. Although I earned nothing last year,(lived off of my "nest egg" while helping my dad) I filed a return out of habit. I got nothing because I paid nothing in. Isn't that the way it is supposed to work?
PS- Trying to find a job now is next to impossible. It is scary to see the toll the economy is inflicting upon American citizens.

What's the difference if you file for them you still don't get it anyways I have been waiting mine since May 14 they said it was direct deposit. Good going IRS

I'm sure that the people that didn't file were the Democrats that thought it was a bad idea. You know, the same Democrats that were against the tax cut and sent in extra taxes because they knew the government needed it. LOL

Do you realize that no one is keeping you from sending the government extra money? Unless you did so, you have no reason to whine. Go ahead, hot shot, lead by example...

Raise Taxes? You are an idiot. Cut democrat’s pork and entitlements cut the government payrolls. Cut big government cut taxes and balance the budget with money to spare. Government needs to get out of the way period because they are the problem not the solution.

the stimulus check was a massive welfare program! the only people who deserve a break are the wealthy they pay the taxes and the tax the rich bull comes straight from the jealous money grubbers at the bottom who suck from the system!
