What year did Clinton have taxes at 24% of GDP? You are getting as bad as Jimbo with misinformation.
I am for taxing all income regardless of source just like earned income.
I believe 93-94 Clinton ran at 24%. Newt and Clinton then knocked them down to 22%. Bush brought them down to 20%.

Bush got caught having revenues slip to 19% be cause of 911 but he was spending at 21-22%.

Right now Obama is spending 25% but a bad economy keeps collections at 16%

Bush was spending 3% more than collected and Obama is spending 9% more than collected.

On the tax rate earned income comment what your HANDLERS " don't " want you to think about is how the affects the middle-class . They only want you to think it hurts the upper class.

Save your MF'ing misinforamtion BS for your fellow azzwipes.

Say for instance a MIDDLE-Class person puts his 401k savings into a high dividend stock . He will pay earned income rate on his amount contributed but 15% on the dividends when he retires.

Dividends get unfairly taxed twice . Once as corporate profits and again when those profits trickle down to the retiree. That's about 50% taxation Fed. total . One or the other should be stopped helping the middle class guy but LEFTY only cares about getting the upper class and really doesn't consider the middle-class as they want the middle-class beholden to a LEFTY controlled gov't.

And the most important fact, unemployment was 5.4% when he left office.
Reagan created over 16 million jobs.
But Obama’s numbers are, well, terrible given that there is still a net job loss of 316,000.
Reagan had to fix all of Carter's mistakes.
alot those jobs were created by Miltary contract Jobs related to the cold war rhetoric and left us with a High Deficit too, Reagan proved he was still a Pseudo Liberal and still believed in FDR's Philosophy on Keynesian Economics.

Because everyone talks a good game but when push come to shove they ALL do what benefits themselves regardless of their monetary situation. Everyone talks about earning a "living wage","outsourcing " etc. Yet when they need to make a purchase, where do they go? To the place that sells what they want at the cheapest price. Imported merchandise. The people GET what they demand.Unfortunately it doesn't stop them from whining about the choices they voluntarily make.

Social Security is a SOCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAM. Just like welfare.

It redistributes wealth from the younger worker to the older non-productive citizens.

It is government controlled, government operated by government paid employee's.

JIMBO - Your Fire Department is Socialist.

BTW: At what point in SS history was the trust fund not invested in treasury notes of some type?

And it was Reagan that cut income taxes and then increased SS taxes to fund the tax cut. Why do you think he racked up the debt and who financed it? SOCIAL SECURITY FINANCED IT!

I own 1 chevy and 1 ford.I was put out of business 20 years ago by a box store. I started a new business 3 years later that gave people what they wanted, cheap prices. People have nobody but themselves to blame for the situtation they find themselves in. They vote the politicians in office and never accept any responsibility for the postion they find themselves in. Who forced the middle class to overextend themselves during the real estate run up? They were as greedy as everyone else.Predatory loans? Didn't they read the small print? Or was it a matter of looking past the unpleasantness and the desire to cash in because people never think the boom time will come to an end? The middle class is just as greedy as anyone else and just as willing to blame someone else for their problems.

Hey I agree, unemployment over 8% for a record amount of time.

Massive debt.

Massive deficits.

Economy not growing.

No answer in sight.

My only question is, as bad as things are, what would it say about the Republicans if they lose?

Romney pays 13% in income taxes, less than many in the middle class.

Romney supports a tax cut.......for himself.

If Ryan's tax plan is implemented then Romney would pay 0.8% in taxes.(Ryan would get rid of the Capital Gains tax.)

The War on Women - No abortion exception for Rape, redefine when pregnancy begins to prevent abortions, invasive ultrasound requirement before abortion, close the last abortion provider in Mississippi, shut off Planned Parenthood.(Not all Romney, but all Republican)

Anti-immigrant - Seal the border and send them home.

Anti-minority - Voter ID laws

And remember, women don't get pregnant if raped.

thats right, Social Security is not an insurance program at all. It is simply a payroll tax on one side and a welfare program on the other. Your Social Security benefits are always subject to the whim of 535 politicians in Washington

http://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/i...

New Deal for Social Security

For six decades Americans have relied on Social Security for retirement income. Now, that venerable program is facing a profound crisis. In just a few short years, Social Security will begin to run a deficit and will be unable to provide promised benefits without an enormous tax increase on young workers. The program's rate of return has been steadily declining, which will leave future generations with the prospect of actually losing money on the system -- getting back less in benefits than they pay in taxes.

This book traces Social Security from its inception to its current crisis, showing that the program's problems are the result of a fundamental flaw in its design. Social Security taxes are not saved or invested in any way. Instead, taxes paid by today's workers are used to pay benefits to today's retirees. Workers have to hope that when they retire another generation of workers will pay the taxes to provide their benefits. Like any pyramid scheme, this system cannot be sustained in the face of changing demographics.

Ferrara and Tanner offer an alternative -- a retirement system based on saving and investment. They propose allowing individuals to divert their Social Security taxes to individually owned, privately invested accounts, similar to IRAs or 401(k) plans. Answering the hard, practical questions about privatizing Social Security, the authors show how such a plan would provide higher and more secure retirement benefits without increasing taxes or penalizing today's retirees.

As the debate over Social Security's future heats up, this book will be vital reading for anyone interested in ensuring that future generations enjoy dignified, secure retirement.

There was predatory loan companies and banks...THAT IS FACT...But yes alot of people bit off more then they could chew....Thing is so many people were not educated or smart enough to get the BS loan companies spewed.. So many just took the word of the TRUSTED banker and signed the dotted line. Knew one lady she was borderline mentally handicapped she got loan and they tricked her with massive ballon payments......SHE LOST EVEYTHING.....Cant blame her for not being banking savy...IN FACT MOST LOAN AGREEMENTS ARE SO COMPLEX AND SO MUCH BS AND SMALL PRINT THAT MOST BASIC HIGHS CHOOL EDUCATED PEOPLE DONT UDNERSTAND THEM...

So support the flat tax. You earn more you pay more. What moral code can justify paying a higher percentage if you earn more?
Especially considering that the monies go to a government that pisses money away at such an alarming rate.

You need an ID to open a bank account, you need a license to drive, you should at least be able to prove you're eligible to vote.

When did demanding immigrants obey the law become wrong?

The second half of your post is just ideological based talking points.

refresh your mind here from a post you made elsewhere! you are sad! what is poor...do you compare them to that IF they are not a Kennedy. Do you know how they were back in the day...coming to Appalacia...telling those proud people...who WORKED for what they had and were happy and content? Yes they offered them all the gov. assisatance etc. made them ashamed, exposed them as useless etc. because of how they lived AND now look at that area! No pride so many depend on the gov. and have for generations..yet you said on the other topic...this does not happen! You called me a liar several times> I think YOU better look back on here. It would be you!
