I am sitting in my apartment in Mountain View with closed doors and windows. It smells bad. Smoke is spreading around. Could authorities cope with this fire? What kind of idiot started it?

Here we go. Here we are trying our best to minimize the emissions, e.g., car pooling, avoiding barbeques in our backyards, and here is this dump company undoing all we have done in more than several years to improve air quality!

Where can one learn about fire updates? Fire Department and City web sites don't show any information. KNTV Weather Plus doesn't cover it. The smoke is dense at my house in Los Altos and I have no sense of what's going on.

It's horrible here in Los Altos. We have to keep the windows closed, and even running the AC causes the house to be filled with noxious fumes. Update please!

It's really bad in Palo Alto as well. My office & gym were both very smoky. And the smoke had finally cleared from the Brisbane fires, too...! Hopefully they'll be able to get things under control soon. Maybe NBC11 (or someone else) will publish updates.
