Full story: Santa Cruz Sentinel

Unemployment in Santa Cruz County is down instead of up, but it's about the same as a year ago, when the recession was in full grip.

Full employment remains in County Government -- wasting the hard earned dollars of the citizenry and of course looking for more.

Jondi -

If you are going to re-post the article, the least you can do is get the figures correct.

California is 12.4% in Sept, not 12%
Nationwide, it is 9.6%, not 9%

And year to year, the unemployment rate is up 0.2%.

Why do even simple things elude this "news" paper.

2500 of 2900 (86.2%) of county job growth is in government, which consumes far more in government revenue than it returns in payroll taxes. It could be argued that such jobs should not even be counted in unemployment percentages - the same way those percentages exclude people who have exhausted their unemployment benefits, graduating students first entering the job market, etc.

Counting government job growth to provide a rosy slant on unemployment is like saying someone can be nouirished by drinking their own blood.

But Bidden and Obama just completed the "Summer Of Recovery Tour" two months agho touting it a grand sucess! It appears 10.6% unemployment is now considered acceptable and the norm to the Obama Administration!

We should be greatful it's only one percent higher than the National Average!

We'll have to see how much higher it grows as California begins implementing the highly costly and restrictive AB 32 Cap and Tax provisions which will be raising the cost of energy and production of most everything here in California.

Hope and prey a few companies decide to remain in California's restrictive and costly environmentwith the implementation of AB 32! Be sure to thank our RINO Governor and the Democrats who came up with this hoax!

Wanted to give ya a star, but the non-commenting Lib Ostriches had already 'judged your post' with a clueless, nuts & a disagree.

As is typical, they had ZERO thoughts cogent or relevant enough to reply with, so they just vented & went back to their Ostrich pose.

P.S. Did you write prey with premeditation?

Good one, considering how the Dimocrats view the private sector in California!!

Santa Cruz is populated with government employees. Not typical of the state or country.

How much has your Section 8 Meth tweaker buddy cost the taxpayers this year?

How much has his drug addled reckless driving boyfriend on SSDI and IHHS cost the taxpayers this year?

Why doesn't your Section 8 Meth loser buddy pay taxes?

Why doesn't your Section 8 Meth buddy report his income to HUD so that he pays his 30% of his income in rent? Why doesn't your Section 8 Meth buddy and his boyfriend pay HUD any rent for their subsidized apartment?

Why are you OK with your Section 8 Meth friends being parasites on society and criminals to boot?

Wrong again pussyboy.

I was unemployed for about 11 days in 1996.

Before that, I had 5 days in 1989.

Been going strong since then.

That's why my house in Aptos is paid for.

Do SOMETHING you loser!!

Or do you like being a career parasite?
