My animals mean the world to me. Dr. Brennan is the most compassionate, intelligent and experienced vet I have ever met. She doesn't run up the bill but provides exacting diagnosis. I cannot say the same for Bannerman. I was shocked with over a $900 dollar bill without being given a quote or notified of extensive x-rays for a simple problem. Dr. Brennan is the go-to vet for German Shepherds. Accept NO substitute. I hope she can groom another vet with this depth of experience and knowledge before she retires. While chain vet offices are like any chain business (impersonal, services pushing, padding treatment) they may provide cheaper rates for some really basic services. But if your pet is very ill or has developed a chronic condition, they ARE NOT the vets you want to go to.

Substitute "hospital" for "vet" and "person" for "pet," and the same can apply to health care monopolies like Catholic Healthcare West and Kaiser.

WHAT A TEAM!!!! Bannerman, Kessinger, and (hopefully) Brennan will return. This will be the best veterinary care available in Santa Cruz...we will be moving our care to Adobe!

I, too, will move to Adobe. Dr. Gherardi has been the best vet my cats have ever had. And Drs. Brennan & Bannerman have also been involved in their care at times. I'm not locked into the location, but sure do want to be with the right doctor for my animals.

Why the Indian bashing? My wife was born here but her family was from India and I don't respect how you are appyling a negative connotation to people from India. Their dirty corporate takeover did not succeed so they are such lowlifes they stoop to insulting staff.
All my pets will now go to Adobe. Welcome new Adobe, we locals will help you gain a strong hold on the community for building your small animal practice. I suspect the India vet will have to return to India, bankrupt and having learned, Americans cannot be bought.

I have been a long time client of the Animal Hospital of Soquel since they were next to Carpos and a true fan of Dr. Brennan. I was very pleased with the addition of Dr. Bannerman. She gave Dr. Brennan some much needed help. I have had Dr. Bannerman care for my pets many times over the past few years and have had kind, compassionate and knowledgeable care every time. She has always kept me informed of the costs and helped me make decisions based on what I could afford. Sometimes it is difficult to diagnose a problem with just one test and additional testing is required and can become expensive. If my pets are sick, I want Dr. Bannerman and her staff to take care of them. I was devastated by the resignation of Dr. Brennan, but have total confidence in Dr. Bannerman and her exceptional staff and will continue to take all of my animals to them at Adobe. I dont think there is anything that Dr. Ghummann or his staff could say that would make me stay there.

I am thrilled to take my pets only to the new Adobe. Welcome ! Great vets, great staff. Their staff has been working on my animals for years. Mark my words, Adobe will thrive with local business. All pet parents I know will go to Adobe. Our phone lines are a buzz with the news. We should all support them in a grand opening party. May the practice be very successful. I have no interest in taking my cats, dogs, to a non-local out of town India based corporation that has so little concern for people and or pets. I don't like the way they do business already with their insulting way in the article.

Dr. Gherardi nursed one of my foster cats back to health from a brutal underarm wound several years ago. He was so gentle with her and kept his costs reasonable, knowing she was a rescued kitty. I am beyond thrilled knowing that he and Dr. Bannerman, as well as Sassy >^.^< , are now at Adobe. I'm hoping that Anneke and Cheryl are there, too. Perhaps Dr. Brennan will fill in whenever one of them goes on vacation because SHE is the goddess of veterinary medicine!!

I am distressed to see Dr. Brennan and the other wonderful Animal Hospital Veterinarians lose their practice to foreclosure. As the article makes clear, the new owners obtained their "oh my gosh" opportunity by exploiting the misfortune of others. It was petty of them to complain that some records have disappeared. I do not feel they have a right to my own pets' records and will ask for them. I am not interested in what they have to offer. People in Santa Cruz care deeply about the care given our animal friends and we are very loyal to our vets. We're moving to Adobe.

I will also be taking my dogs to Adobe. Dr. Bannerman has always been great with all the dogs we brought there - so comforting and compassionate with the people and canines. We asked copies of our records last week when we heard about the change because we are comfortable with Dr. Bannerman. In defense of the new owners, I have a friend that takes her dog to Dr. Ghumann in Mountain View and absolutely love him. Unfortunately I wouldn't expect him to spend much time in Santa Cruz but who knows.
