Joe Simitian is the moron who introduced the bill that outlawed using a cellphone without a hands-free device - in spite of research that shows that drivers with a hands-free set up are just as distracted as those who are holding the phone. I realize that as a legislator Mr. Simitian is a joke, but having a contest to see if there are more bad laws to be made? The joke is on us.

'There oughta be a law' contest on

California has enough laws about stupid small things. I thought this state was liberal? Putting our genitalia in a vice is very republican of you Mr. Simitian.

There ought NOT be a law on cellphones if they aren't banned completely (people could also live 15 minutes without gabbing about reality shows while driving), fireworks should be legal in safe areas like the beaches, drugs should be decriminalized since prohibition just takes the control out of legislation and forces sales underground, responsible legal citizens should be able to have handguns, gays should be able to marry. Laws should be taken off our bodies if it doesn't REALLY harm others. Prejudice governs.

With a little imagination, we can come up with many laws that will help the lives of ordinary Californians. I can think of a half dozen right now. The comments on this forum, written by absolute dumbshits, only show that we ought to limit the internet to people with IQs above 75. Hey, there's a law! Let's think of some more.
