How is this news? The Children's Museum has been having camp-ins for years. A good story would be how a few years ago the place caught fire because of poor maintenance during a camp-in. Another good story would be on the numerous fire code violations the town let that place get away with. The building was completely unsafe until the fire prompted the fire marshal to enforce the law.

Well Gss, that is not the place it is today, and I guess you missed where it said "the Children's Museum began offering the overnight experiences for scouts and other youth groups about seven years ago".

Sorry you had such a bad experience there. This is wonderful place that Kids and parents all enjoy. We recently used the facility to hold our holiday party for kids and EVERYONE, kids and parents, had a great time.

To everyone else....They have also recently update the planetarium. Virtual sports games, animals of all types (lots of rescues), lots of hands on activities. If you haven't been recently. go and take some kids. You'll have a great time!

Actually, I remember in 1997 they were offering camp-ins. Anyways,I'm glad you had a "great time." It was unfortunate that the people who had their camp-in due to poor planning and inferior management and had to experience the trauma of fire. Also, how about the NSF loan the museum misspent and had to repay? How about a story on violations on overtime laws by hiring employees as "contractors" during camp-ins and as hourly employees during the daytime?

I took my scout troop here several years ago back when they had a Zaboomafu camp-in. We were in the yellow submarine room. It definitely was a good "camping" trip for Brownies. We found it to be well run and a good event.
