That is not only DISGUSTING but BIG TIME SCARY!!!! And this kid is going into "law enforcement"??!!! YIKE!!!! There are also statistics out there that killing animals like that is a trait of SERIAL KILLERS! There definitely ought to be much harsher penalties for what this kid did because maybe that would stop the next serial killer from being able to do what that lunatic in Cleveland did...!

I think what this young man did, was wrong.
The last thing we need is more stupid laws.
Enviormental & "animal rights" activists are some of the worst about pushing for "stiffer" penalties.
Fine him, put him on probation and get over it.

I think this child is very very bad. I hope he goes to jail for what he did because this penalty is not enough. He murdered this cat and if it was an adult they would be fined and be in jail right now. Why can't they do the same for this kid. He is old enough. This makes me sick that he did something like this. People can be soo cruel. This was GOD's creation and God will punish him for what he did.

Bryan Able's actions warrant him being slammed onto a hard surface, gutted and used for Hannible Lector's next evening meal. I hope I never meet this scumbag!

This young man is a sick individual. If we the people could make the law enforcement take more notice to incidents like this it would be in our favor. But for some reason they turn their heads when it comes to innocent animals, that humans domesticated. People like this person should be thrown in prison and let him see some abuse.

Problem is they accept anyone into college law enforcement classes and that isn't right. This idiot is one sick F ***. Nothing else can describe him. He should get the 6 months and be ordered into a mental health facility.

6 months?! are you f***ing kidding me?! That little s*** should get longer than that...but nooooo, mutilating a poor animal isnt that big of a crime. Serial killers start out torturing and mutilating animals. I hope he gets raped and tortured while hes away for a pitly ass 6 months.

This is not a person who should be working in law enforcement and any program in the country should recognize that. Besides the paltry maximum sentence he should be handed, I hope his school has the common sense to boot him from their program.

Right now we have to deal with the laws the way they are written. He's an adult (18), and the maximum is 6 months in jail. He should get the full 6 months. That way he at least has a record, and getting a job in law enforcement would be more difficult (he at least has to explain this on a background check). In addition, if I were the judge, I'd make him undergo psych counceling, and pay the counceling for any family members of the tortured cat.

Another case of young people not believing they are responsible for their actions. I'd bet if you could look back on this kid's life, he got away with a lot of dumb stuff without much of a consequence. These kinds of actions don't just happen overnight.

I'd say the media puttin his name, location, and where he goes to school for public villification may be more effective. I mean, the Laws we have didn't protect those murder victimes in Cleveland.
Justice appears to be best served 'Granny Style'.

it be just a anaimal to some people, but to the owner of the cat, that was their child. Imagine what the owner of the cat is going thru.

And he is a law enforcement student. This is the kind of person who will be protecting our children? God help us.

I hope he gets expelled.
