Paris Draws China's Wrath Even as France Tries to Smooth Things Over

China stepped into an internal French political spat on Tuesday, fiercely condemning a decision by the Socialist city council of Paris to make the Dalai Lama an honorary citizen of Paris.

ETA and the relationship between China and Japan

http://japansconspiracy.hp.infoseek.co.jp/01/...

Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Koumura visited Beijing. He held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on December 1, 2007. Koumura and Yang also signed agreements on mutual cooperation in criminal investigations and on Japan's final batch of yen loans to China after their talks.

On the same day, ETA killed, in France, two Spanish Civil Guards on counter-terrorist surveillance duties in Capbreton, Landes. This has been its first cold blood killing after it ended its self styled "permanent ceasefire" and the first killing committed by ETA in France of an Spanish police agent ever since 1976, when they kidnapped, tortured and assassinated two Spanish inspectors in Hendaye..........

If Paris is a socialist-governed city, and China is a socialist government, this questions if China is really socialist anymore.

Seems more capitalist to me nowadays.

China socialist ? No, it is a dictatorship by the people or some of the people and for the people or some of the people ! That's how the chinese want it. You want a piece of the cake in China, join the commie party. Hu did, he is now president. A peanut farmer can become president of good old USA and an ordinary engineer can be president of China. All you have to do is to use your brains and work within the system.

Yes, Chinese should buy more US bonds to help finance USA's wars in Iraq and Afganistan.

China has a boat load of money and wants to spend it. From time to time, China might be cozy with some countries, and quarrel with other countries. The countries cozy with China get a lot of business orders.
Here is the score card since the Olympic torch run.
England came out ok. There were some protest and I am sure they are part of the protest conspiracy, but they can claim innocent. They didn't know there were going to be protests. It will be business as usual with China.
The French is in big trouble. They knew about the protest in London, but failed to stop it in Paris. Worst of all, they allowed a wheelchair-bound cute-looking female Chinese athlete to be attacked. French business will be boycotted for the time being.
US is in good shape. The torch route was changed. The demonstrators got fooled. The French thinking that they had an understanding with US to allow the torch to be attacked in San Francisco also got fooled. US will be ranked higher than the French in Chinese eyes.
The Australian looks very good. Two Chinese torch guards were allowed to run with the torch bearer, at a slight greater distance than nornal. There were no disruption from protesters. The 2 million dollars spent on security will get paid back many times over.
The Japanese might turned out to be the biggest winner. There were not much noise from Japan about anything, very quiet. Although the torch isn't there yet, I don't expect problems. They will get some very big orders.

The french bypass security to smuggle themselves into the Torch-lighting ceremony. That's how "peaceful" they are. My gosh, imagine if that was a muslim that went in there, they'd be locked up and condemned for sure.

The French truly are just rowdy and uncivilized people. Gross. It's so like them to pull something like this just to get attention again.

Delanoe is just an attention-grabber. Sarkozy needs to come up with something better than the excuse of the city executing on its own accord, blahblahblah. Keep boycotting french goods!

Chinese constitution defines the country as a "democratic dictatorship", where the majority rules absolutely, and where the minority are dictated absolutely. Majority and minority here are not ethnic, religion or any other identifier, but simply majority opinion and minority opinion. If anyone have a problem with that, talk to the book.

Not really. It is what a democracy is, majority rule, in a more absolute term.

The definition of democracy is the problem.

US defines it as democratic election. China defines it by people's wishes.

That means a US president is elected by the people after they watched debates and political advertisement on TV. When the president takes office, the president has the power of a dictator. He can decide to go to war, when the people don't support that war.

After a Chinese president is elected in a multi-tier election eventually by the People's Congress, the president works to fulfill the wishes of the people. The Chinese president's job is to provide the results to the people according to their wishes.

That is why you often hear the Chinese government asking unfriendly foreign countries not to do anything that will hurt the feeling of the Chinese people.

The democratic process in US is considered perfect and ready to be export. The Chinese democratic process is continuously being reform to adapt to modern needs of China.

The only part of the Chinese process that is exported to another country is that each country should determine how best to adapt various political theories to their own countries.
