wouldnt it be more worhty of the newsprint to "take off" after miley cyrus and her dads photo in these days of to "catch a predator" and the explotation of teen age girls. Oh, wait,,,wasnt the country singer only 15 when roger the dodger started up with her?

Jacob's perspective is interesting, but I wish the Courant would trade Jeff and some of the other male sportswriters for a few women sportswriters. ESPN and the other networks have discovered the value of women sportscasters, so when does the Courant enter the 21st century?

It is amazing to me that this is being turned into an international issue by the Courant. Where was the "outrage", when Laura Summerton (she was still on the Sun roster at the time) posed nude (with fellow Opals - Hollie Grima and Carly Wilson) in Black & White Magazine's Commonwealth Games photoshoot? It must not have been a slow newsday. Let's stop imposing the cultural norms of the US on others. Erin was in an Australia-based publication intended for an Australian audience. Her photos and her comments should be viewed in that perspective. Just like Laura and Lauren Jackson, she is young and beautiful and it is her prerogative as to how she wishes to promote herself and the Opals. It should be noted that Basketball Australia did not have any problem with her photoshoot or her comments. During her time on the Sun, Erin has been a hard-working player who has developed a great realtionship with the Sun fanbase. Coach Thibault and GM Sienko have put together an exciting roster that deserves our support and attention. Let's go back to covering women's basketball in the state instead of using every opportunity to stir up non-issues into controversies. Good luck to Erin and the Opals in Beijing. I look forward to seeing her in a Sun uniform later this summer.
