Sturgis lands spot on Olympic roster
For St. Augustine born Nathan Sturgis, it's the chance of a lifetime.
And at just 21 years old, it couldn't have come sooner.
On Thursday, the 18-man soccer roster for this summer's Olympics in Beijing was announced, and Sturgis cracked the list.
Sturgis played for Nease before moving to the IMG Academy and then heading to Clemson, where he was elected ACC Defensive player of the year in 2005. He was drafted 12th overall by Los Angeles before being traded to Real Salt Lake in 2007.
