More of the culture cripples again showing their intelligence. Census data says the black community is around 12 percent of the population yet crime statistics tell us a FAR different picture. It is VERY disproportionate. Rules of law or rational behavior do not apply to them. After all see how the illegal alien Kenyan in the white house reacts to laws he doesn't like (IE -the US Constitution)- he just ignores it, other laws, and society's customs! What a role model! Hey mom can I grow up to be a like Chicago politician with no qualifications?

"This city is not the wild, wild West," said Oakland Police Chief Anthony Batts. "This city will not tolerate this sort of activity."

Right about now, Chief Batts is saying: "Y'know, maybe Long Beach wasn't so bad after all."

These animals were going to riot regardless of the verdict. The cops should have had orders to shoot to kill anyone looting or setting fires.

If Foot Locker's mgt was dumb enough to put a store in the crime-ridden slum that is Oakland, it's their fault if the shop gets trashed and looted.

"Master Card Marxists..." Perfect. Blacks would be so, if they could figure out how to create a positive credit score.

The family of Oscar Grant is confusing justice for vengeance. The emotions are running high and is understandable when you lose a family member in such a sudden and violent manner. The words from his mother and the community that Oscar Grant was an "innocent victim" is completely false. Johannes Mehserle mistook his taser for his service weapon and discharged it, only after responding to backup his fellow officers and after giving multiple commands to Oscar Grant to comply. Does it make it right? Of course not. For the above mentioned story not to happen after a case of this magnitude, the police department and black community leaders need to come together and have an open dialogue that would maybe bring a different message to the community instead of it boiling down to race. In my opinion, I do not believe that Mehserle needed his taser in the first place nor pull out his firearm. I do believe situation could of turned out much differently with Oscar Grant still here today.

It may not have been smart to locate a store in Oakland, but the fault of the looting lies squarely on the shoulders of the looters.

Any excuse to riot and steal . When ask , detained by a officer do as he or she asks and if necessary go to Internal Affairs . I did have a problem with a officer in Long Beach near my home. I did get a badge number and did file a complaint. It was followed up and the officer was found that he was wrong by his peers.

I am so tired of a portion wait for any opportunity to riot and steal .

This like other posters stated they where looking for a excuse to riot.

I was surprised that anything but "pot shops" bars, and free clinics were open in Oakland.

Those who made the decision to open stores in horrible, violent hole like Oakland should be fired by their share holders.

Most of the rioters/looters aren't Oakland residents. Also, there actions have really nothing to do with the verdict. They're using it as an excuse. Furthermore, people seem to forget Johannes Maheserle was convicted of involuntary manslaughter with a gun enhancement. Its highly unlikely he'll avoid prison time. Most likely, he'll receive a 7 year sentence. For a police officer, one day in prison will seem like a lifetime.

You haven't been up there for a while. It's black gang bangers from around California who moved up there to escape the constant confrontation of Mexican gang members. Black gangs are a cowardly, and superstitious lot, and can't deal with the ultraviolence Mexican gang members take for granted.
That is, blacks do "drive-bys," while Mexicans kidnap you, take you to a warehouse for beheading, and leave it head on a pike on your mother's front lawn while still warm, or some variation.

These rioters are just following the example set by their exhalted leader in the White House, and his Dept. of Justice. It's all about payback to "the man" for all the real or perceived wrongs this country has heaped on the black community throughout our history. They have a "victim" mentality, and will continue to do so until they start listening to people like Bill Cosby and Star Parker instead those scoundrels Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
