Older voters, out of fear and ignorance, are more likely to vote against marriage equality. And there are more of them by percentage of voters. But that is changing as they die off and are replaced by the next generation. Slowly.

While the polls may be an accurate reflection of the overall population, the simple fact is the overall population doesn't vote. How hard is it to poll registered voters who've voted in the previous 2 elections and state they are very likely to vote in the next election? As it stands, we have to take 5-10 points off the pro-equality side and add to the anti-gay side to get a better idea how a vote will turn out. It's nice to know the majority of the population supposedly support marriage equality; at least we know our biggest challenge is voter turnout.

Say what you will about tea baggers and angry old poops, they do, as a group, get out and VOTE. A lot of lazy asses can barely lift their hand to grab the remote. It's those who have to get busy.

As people mature and gain life experience, they realize what a fraud homosexual 'marriage' is. Homosexual 'marriage' is a cruel lie with no real basis in how homosexual live! No significant percent of the homosexual population has 'married' in ANY country that allows it, and studies have shown that few such 'marriages' are even exclusive relationships. The homosexual 'marriage' movement is a hate based political charade attacking what others hold sacred. No homosexual relationship shares the reasons for government involvement in real marriage. No economically or physically unequal genders are involve. No child is ever born as a direct result, and no such relationship can provide a child with a father and mother. Having both is one of the most accurate statistical predictions of a child's future success in life. Homosexual themselves overwhelmingly reject 'marriage' as an actual practice in EVERY country that allows the concocted oxymoron.

I don't see why people care who gets married? Just because they don't approve of homosexuality doesn't mean they should keep them from getting married and living their life. I'm sure there are straight marriages that people don't agree with but they can't legally deny them a marriage. I think marriage equality is accepted more by those under 35 and that each generation is more accepting. I do believe those polls to be the case. Marriage equality is not a matter of if but when. Most of the states that banned same-sex marriage are conservative or Southern states. What did you expect? I find it funny that those who support all the benefits of marriage under a civil union vote to also ban civil unions in these marriage amendments. It makes me question their sincerity and if it's more of a matter of dislike for gays than it is about the word marriage.

Well we better figure it out soon, because if we lose in WA, ME, MD, & MN, the we might as well just hang it up and wait the decade or more for the courts to act and enough anti-gays to die off where they can't get a majority vote anymore.

But even one win in one of those states would deflate the wind in one of the far right's (spelled NOM) basic tenets.

How can two adults actually wanting to love and commit and marry be called HATE? And HOW can that hurt your stupid marriage? What possible effect would it have, unless your marriage is so weak and flimsy that even another couple wedding is a threat? As for a mother and father, uh, CLETUS, the one name you have NOT used yet, tell YOUR precious heteros to STOP getting divorced. Tell your heteros that a FIFTY PERCENT marriage failure is NOT a good role model. Finally, tell YOUR heteros to stop having one child households. I mean, if it is so horrible for two men or two women to raise a child, why is it OK for a single mom or dad to raise one? You are not even following your own tenants of behavior. Why aren't you taunting THEM? And PLEASE don't plaster this with boring irrelevant BIBLE quotes. Use your OWN mind for once and actually ANSWER a question.

Too true. I am thinking he is autistic or something, the false names, the repeats, the inability or refusal to answer the simplest questions. Truly insane.

When your pet older voters are in their muddy graves it will change. By the way, what did you mean by die offs in groves? You mean in apple orchards or something? Sorry to upset you, but there is very good work being done on HIV cures, more promising than anything yet. That's good for many HETEROS have been "busy" and have caught HIV also.

The real truth being that nothing could sound more unprofessional, or less from the mouth of an educated doctor, biologist, or psychiatrist. It is your choice to sound like a dumbass on a public message board. But this attempt to force your opinion on others is ludicrous. The best that will come out of it is that YOU will look like an animal to others. Animals tend not to have an education, you see. I honestly think it *kills* the antigay inside, like a knife to the soul, that you cannot force others to go along with your rape and hatred. I think you'd force everyone in a *nanosecond*(based on the behavior of the antigay in HALF THE REST OF THE WORLD, no less), and it just knifes you with an unbelievable pain that in America, you cannot get away with this. Happy Gay wrote: The only thing likely to die off is gays and that could have in groves, with the rate of AIDS infestations. Because of course, so your literally irrational antigay hatred here states, EVERYONE ELSE will live eternally, never dying off at all. Happy Gay wrote: Learn to read, boy: NEW YORK (AP)- Poll after poll shows public support for same-sex marriage steadily increasing, to the point where it's now a majority viewpoint. It's a paradox with multiple explanations, from political geography to the likelihood that some conflicted voters tell pollsters one thing and then vote differently. The state votes are not reflective of reality on several levels. It is *extremely* revealing that the antigay deem them to be: anything, anything to force upon everyone a pretense that the antigay "are winning." According to Lawrence v. Texas, you lost a decade ago. What's currently happening is problematic on numerous levels, akin to the denial of health coverage to your small and dying daughter. Bad example; the antigay don't care about kids at all. Let's say it was you. Oh, wait, it IS you: It *IS* you, because *JUST* like the pro-gay,*YOU* are fighting for rights *YOU* feel you are losing. Ya know, those lies the antigay tell about how gayness is being "forced" upon them? And yet it's not being forced upon them through marriage, which is banned (BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION) in over thirty states. No, it's being forced upon people like you *by every other means except for marriage*, and you would have anyone pro-gay believe that this "will" alter your life when logic dictates it should have, already. And it has: The only difference is that the antigay have been screaming about it for a decade or more. Weird little fact: This *hasn't* reversed Lawrence v. Texas or done *anything else* aside from marriage to curtail gay rights, which have either remained as they were in *every* other facet, or else advanced. No wonder you're crying like a pig caught in its own shit. What you *really* want to change, you cannot do anything about. Nothing at all. Please, for the love of god, go fucking cry about it somewhere else. No one who stands for *humanity* is interested in your victim status and your love of Nazi bullshit. Seriously.
