Joke with your mates man. If you have an opinion on the topic to express, then by all means, post. You can even include a bit of humour in your post but it's not cool to cruise the forums just dropping one line jokes...

Another one. We have Government funded T.V. ads about drinking, smoking, depression, illnesses, domestic violence, dole fraud, dvd piracy,
terrorists, and other things. You think they would make one about murder/suicide?
Something like this....
"If you don't want to live anymore and you are thinking of taking your own life, before you do it, please ring this number (insert number).
If you are determined to kill yourself PLEASE, PLEASE, I beg you, don't kill anyone else. Please, don't take the children with you. Get help. It's there for you and there is no shame in asking for help. There are good people who will give your children a good life. Please live for tomorrow."

All the other Ad campaigns have been successful and I'm sure something like this would reduce the murder/suicide rates. What do you think?

Only exception I'd take to your post, Aunt Melba, is the fact that the ad campaigns, on the whole, have NOT been successful. Just a feel good thing for the government who wants to be seen to be doing the right thing. Take smoking, for example. The government doesn't really want to lose the revenue, but they look like they have the moral high ground by making the right noises....

A good solid movie or song about this issue might have a better impact.

Whaleisdelicacy, I am well aware of the irrelevance of one's opinions to others. Nonetheless , I (we?) like to come here and express opinions anyway. After all thats what Topix is all about.

Don't take it too personally, but I will stick by what I said regards your opening post. However your response post has content regards the topic at hand (which I agree with, btw), and as such, I will look forward to reading your future posts....

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Capricorn

If you need to get someone organized, this is the day to do it. You'll sort things out without sounding bossy or patronizing, and you'll also get co-operation instead of resistance. It's a good day for having a serious chat with a child, perhaps because you need to explain something and want to make sure you do it properly, in a way that doesn't create confusion or fear.
