"Katipo spiders are known to have a highly specialised habitat in New Zealand's sand dunes and bite only rarely, and in defence."

So ... er ... what was he doing to the spider ...?

I've got my R&D Laboratories working on this already. On those beaches we're going to release genetically modified Katipo spiders to inject aphrodisiac instead of venom. Great for tourism, bad for discipline. I'll be rich!! LOL!!

I can't believe Topix told me to refrain from using profanity! I didn't use any that I know of. Can Topix read my words...or did I mistakenly use the f-word when I meant "luck"?

(double checking my comment)...

After checking my comment at least four...count 'em...FOUR TIMES, I see no profane language that I can see. Unless...Topix considers the male body part as "profanity", which is stupid if so. I used the correct term for it, not some slang term that many of you are probably familar with.

The stern red warning also erupts for terms that earlier posts in the same thread have used unchallenged. So it's inconsistent to say the least.

I was being serious, by the way. He's very fortunate he's alive. It could have turned out much worse than it did. I don't know much about those kinds of spiders, but the article mentioned they are very dangerous and their bites could be deadly. Not word for word, but something along those lines.
