So much disrespect for women!

People are ready to crucify this girl, and they don't even bother to note the facts!

I am very disappointed in DA Rice, even all people in serious positions who are careless with their words on tv. Being a woman, knowing the persecution and disregard, I thought she was better than that.

On this topic you call her "Kayla whats her name", who was "coked up".

DA Rice jumped all over her, and said "she showed no remorse".

The girl was crying and constantly talking about how it was an accident, and she was on prescription drugs. That shows remorse.

Her name, by the way, is Kayla Gerdes.

Here's a fact... Kentucky is the only state that ends in its postal abbreviation (KY).

Pass me the hammer and a few nails please.

Quite frankly her name is "Mud" she was less concerned when she found out the "lady was old".She abused her drugs, prescription does not excuse one from reckless behavior.

She was crying out of embarrasment not remorse and she was more concerned about how she looked on camera and she looked like most drugged up people who just killed someone.

I hope this is a joke. This woman purposely drove while high on drugs (prescription or not). She actually switched with the owner of the van because he was not driving fast enough. Did you see the video of her where she said this poor woman was old anyway? Who cares if an old woman was killed....is that ok?

I want to know if her middle name is Equus or something...

BTW, I am a woman, a professional, a mother, and would you please tell me which facts I missed when I read this story? You seem to know so much more than I do..

Put her in a stall with heavy iron bars for the next 100 years or so...

I READ THE STORY. DID ANY OF YOU?

She drove because the driver was nodding out.

She said she felt better when she realized that the woman had lived a long time.

Its REALLY disgusting the way women around here are ready to tear each other to shreds at the drop of a hat. WHY IS THAT? WILL IT EVER STOP?

Doesn't it bother you that she is called Kayla whats her name?, and that no one bothers to even read or follow the story with any respect whatsoever.

They just use her unmercifully to vent their rage. I know more about the story because I bothered to pay attention to it. Just because this girl is obviously totally vulnerable does not mean you have to wipe the streets with her.

Did you ever even consider the possiblility that maybe it WAS an accident?

You must be a relative to this skank,an accident is not driving when you are under "medication"and that's a crock of sh1t.If the driver was nodding off both low lifes should have pulled over.

Wipe the streets with her? I want to wipe my a$$ with her.

It's irrelevant to me (and to anyone with a brain) what gender, age or zodiac sign she is. What matters is what she did and how she did it. On her way to court (to face charges of stealing from her family for drug money) while completely tweaked out on multiple substances - with additional doses at the ready - getting behind the wheel of a car, squashing some poor innocent woman on her own property, running away, hoping to enlist the sympathy of as many saps as she can by blubbering about it being an accident, obsessing over how she looks on camera and relieving her own angst by expressing satisfaction that her victim was "old." She should serve such a sentence as to be her victim's age when she's denied her first opportunity for parole.

Some women get torn to shreds just because they're gardening.

You're siding with a shredder.

Care to take a gander where the van wound up??

"She felt better after she realized the woman lived a long time"Just exactly what age do you think a person should be to get KILLED?

It does not matter what her name is,her bull dagger in prison will re-name her.

She looks like one of those girls where there's NOTHING she wouldn't do for a guy to get her next fix. I can tell a drugwhore from a mile away and this chic must've swallowed gallons and had the loosest butthole on the Island.

Total trash.

You made yourself a drug addict, now don't make being a drug addict an excuse for wreaking havoc on your family and society.

I guess according to this dirt bag the age that it is ok to be mowed down by an out of control van is 69.

I extracted some of the article.....
Reportedly, the 18-year-old from Freeport, N.Y. was kicked out of her mother's home after stealing her jewelry to support a drug habit. She was due in court Tuesday morning to face a grand larceny charge.

Police claim the teen was in a hurry and her boyfriend was driving too slowly, so she took matters into her own hands. Gerdes leapt behind the wheel of her boyfriend's construction van without a license, and careened out of control, killing respected zoologist Rebecca Twine-Wright, ultimately slamming the vehicle onto the front porch and into the living room, reports WCBS.

No where does it say the boyfriend was drousy. Another little fact is that she DIDN'T HAVE A LICENSE. So this drug addict, unlisenced driver murders some poor sweet old lady.

Exactly!

And for a vehicle to jump a curb and slam into a house that's quite a stretch to not be able to slam on the brakes which means she was not in control of her faculties.
