Potvins Wife wrote: I feel bad for Ranger fans. First off, any team owned by the Dolans is doomed. The Dolans could care less about wins/losses, just how many season tickets they sell. The 100s/200s sections are filled with suits each night, being more attention to finding a sushi place on their blackberrys then the game. Isles have ownership that actually cares if they win, unfortunately I feel Garth Snow prob didnt wear his helmet in practice enough Nothing wrong with wearing a suit..many of us wear them to work. Even though I think James Dolan is a dick, MSG blows away the Nassau Mausoleum. In general, Ranger fans are more knowledgable and more loyal compared to Islander fans

Wow just Wow wow wow woweee! the rags eeked out 19 more goals than the isles last season. Now, they have lost 2 of their top three goal scorers, jagr(25) and shanahan(23), not to mention avery, who made them go.

He was a minus player (so was girardi) because he went up against most teams top lines most games. It wasnt as if the Rangers were lighting the lamp either. Tyutin was caught up ice a lot ??? I think you may have been watching some other team, cause Tyutin was usually back.

You have to like the youth movement and the extra speed that Slats has brought on ....along with the slow, no talent players like Malik, Hollweg that will be gone. I don't think Sather id finished with making moves...he better come through or his time might be up Just about everyone on the Rangers looked like crap against the Pens !! No, I dont like what they've done with the forwards. I dont see how Naslund, Pissmiller, Varos & Zherdev and better than Jagr, Avery, Straka and Shanny. Lets not forget signing a 31 year old Dman on the decline for 6 years @ 6.5 million, as well as injury prone, Kalinen.

Inginla went to the finals one year and is stuck in a small market. Nash, Kovalchuck and Ovechkin have never been on true contending teams. Put Ovechkin on the Rangers last year and you never know what might have been.

You're the one who said a consistent 40-50 goal scorer is needed to win the cup (or something of that nature) Tell me who scored that many goals on this years Red Wings or last years Ducks, or the Hurricanes win 2 years ago. I dont think there were any.

I really don't know what you're arguing about. If you don't believe a team needs a goal scoring star to win a cup then it's useless having a discussion with you. I still don't understand your point of bringing up those four players who haven't won a cup. By the way don't compare Ovechkin to those other players. He's probably the best player in the league.
