My dog is very ill. The vet thinks it is from the Waggin Train Wholesome Chicken Jerkey Tenders. He vomited and could not move this morning. He has liver and possibly kidney concerns. I do not know if he will make it or not.
I am so sorry you are going through this. I didn't realize these treats were toxic until reading the posts after spending $1400 on our two dogs. Perfectly healthy dog starts to vomit for unexplained reasons and spends 3 days at the vet, etc. Several trips back and forth and finally finally we figure out the link with the WAGON TRAIN treats. Well our dogs have basically every type of Wagon Train treat to choose from. Basically like choosing a death sentence...the treats, I totally believe were killing my dogs. Thankfully they recovered. We will now be making our dog treats so we know what is in them. All of the bags we gave them said "made in China".

Just purchased wagginn train chicken jerky for dog treat. now have read commewnts from many people that they have caused their dog to get sick and in some cases die. It is time for FDA to stop the sale of these treats and test them to make sure what the problem is. I have stopped using this product and will throw away what I have. All pet owners should be warned and produced removed from stores shelves. The pkg I just purchased was from SAM's Club

I also have been feeding my 2 min pins waggin train chicken jerky tenders and they both have diarhea most of the time, when eating these . One now is in kidney failure and very sick the other is diabetic. I am now wondering if this product has anything to do with these issues. I just the other day bought another bag of these at Costco and threw out my register slip but after reading this article I am going to try to bring it back. Hopefully they will not give me a hard time. I am wpndering why they are still selling these wagging train jerky strips at Costco. I would think they would be pulled from all stores.

I just bought a bag on waggin trail chicken strips Oct 17,2009. I gave it my German Shepherd and one to my Maltese. The Maltese was up on night with stomach pains and vomiting by 4:00 am that night my little dog was bleeding from his rectum and vomiting blood also. That morning I had to go the vet and I had to put my Maltese to sleep.. I am very angry that the FDA did not stop this product, now I worry about my German Shepherd, my dogs are like children to me, DOESN'T ANYONE CARE> I want to have this bag sent to Board of Health

We received A bag of Waggin tails yam wrapped chicken treats from a friend who was visiting. I feed my dog Pinnical and California Natural and give her bananas and or organic peanut butter in Kong toys for treats. But the friend brought the treats and the children were excited about feeding the treats to our dog. She's had 2-3 of them a day over the last few days. She has bloody diarreah (pools of blood, not simply a little trace or vein if blood). She has a history of gastroenteritis. So diarreah is not a new thing fir her. But the huge among of fresh blood IS a new and concerning symptom. I googled "waggin' Tails bloody diarreah" and am amazed (and dismayed) to see 400+ entries related to I'll or deceased pets and Waggin Tails over the lay TWO years. Does anyone know anything about the waggin' tails yam wrapped chicken strips? Thanks for taking the time to tell your stories and to warn others. I am genuinely sorry for all of your losses. I am praying my Jazzy hasn't been permanently affected.

It is 4 am and I was just doing research on these waggin Train jerky tenders because my pomeranian has been coughing awfully and restless tonight we can not sleep due to his sickness, I am now sure is from these strips since it is the only new thing I gave him.

I gave him like a half one day and a week later a half, and by now a total of 2 or 3 strips at the most. He did started coughing slowly getting much worse. I thought it was allergies.

The package is from CHINA, I just bought it in a recent trip to USA probably Target or a super market, in Florida or DC, can not recall.

Can someone suggest what to do? I guess take the dog to the vet for antibiotics?
anyone knows what bacteria is involved in these treats?

I love my dog with all my heart!

Thanks.

Thanks for the comments. I was speaking with someone at the dog park tonight, and we were discussing treats. i mentioned the duck treats i has bought for my dog from Costco, and he said to check the back of the bag as he had bought some from there previously, and they were irradiated. Well, they are the same treats! I am so glad that this guy mentioned it. The bag is very misleading. You try to buy a healthy treat snack for the dog, and it is one that can cause all types of future damage. Luckily, the dog has only had diaharrea and eating grass to vomit (but I could not figure out the connection until reading this, as he eats very high quality kibble). Well, I am going to try to return the treats to Costco, and only get treats from the dig store from now on.
