Hi, daily I fed my dog Codya few of the Waggin Train Chicken Jerkys and he now has a kidney disease. I'm returning the un-opened bag to Costco in Nanaimo and hope they take this product off their shelf. I object to buying food products made in China and thought that with the American imprint everything was made in USA. I too did not notice the small Made in China imprint on the bag.
My Cody is gravely ill and had a kidney-failure. I don't know whether he'll recuperate since kidney disease is not curable.

I fed my dog Cody a few Waggin Train Chicken Jerkys per day and he had a kidney failure and now is diagnosed with kidney disease. The Vets couldn't figure out why Cody got sick. After reading the recall page, I will return the unopened bag of Waggin Train Jerkey Tenders to Costco in Nanaimo and hope they take this product off the shelf.

This will of course not help my dog since cody now has an uncurable kidney disease.

Please inform me whether any of the Waggin Train Chicken Tenders have any ingredients from China. I have been using your product for some time with no ill effects on my dog, but would like to confirm whether or not any part of the product has been imported from China.

I have been feeding my 4 year old rhodesian ridgeback the Kingdom Pets Chicken Jerky from Costco for about 6 months. Back in October we started noticing increased drinking, urinating and lethargy. She went to the vet in November for her shots and the vet did a urine analysis, which came back normal. She wasn't eating much so we changed her food, all the while giving her the occasional chicken jerky treat. Just before Christmas she was vomiting and had diarrhea. We took her to a vet who found a large mass in her abdomen and declared that it was cancer. After x-rays, ultrasounds and laparoscopy the vets are more confused, because they cannot identify the disease.(Now they think it is not cancer.) She has been on steroids, antibiotics, marin and denysol. The only thing the vets knew for sure is that her liver, spleen and left kidney are really bad. They found bacteria in her liver that they could not identify, but when put in cultures and stains it did not grow. The vets are at a loss. By accident today I came across the FDA warning about chicken jerky treats and it suddenly makes sense.
My husband threw out the bag that the treats came in to seal them in a better container and keep them fresher. So I don't have a lot number. We have an appointment with the vet tomorrow, to have her stitches removed, and I will bring the left over treats with me to have them tested. I just wish I had known about this before now. Why aren’t the media outlets talking about this?
Well, I have my dogs entire history up on her blog. Feel free to read it at www.dogmatches.com .

We have 3, 1 year old Chihuahuas. A couple weeks ago all three had mushy poops. They eat dry dog food and their stools are normally firm. The only difference is a new treat we introduced called Beefeaters Peanut Butter Cuisine which are in 5" Rawhide sticks about pencil thickness. We stopped the treats and only let them eat their Pedigree small breed dry food. All was fine in a couple days and their stools were normal firmness again. Just today we gave them each a Beefeater Peanut Butter Cuisine treat and this evening their poops have once again turned to puddy consistency and they are pooping copiously at frequent and urgent intervals. I notice the treats are made in Colombia and made from '100% Natural Ingredients'.

They don't seem to be in distress or lethargic, but I find the digestive results troubling and am concerned for their health.

My dog has is spending the night in the clinic with an IV attached to her. Her creatitine level is 9.2, I too gave her chicky strips everyday before I left the house in the morning. I can't believe that I did this to her. She has lost over 30% of her body weight and has not life. Why do these products exist?

I have been trying to find out if Beefeaters Chicken Fillets is also sold as Pet Rapport. No straight answer yet, but seems like yes. I called their customer service at 800.447.3872 in New Jersey two days ago and spoke with a very nice lady (yes, they actually answered the phone!) who explained although they do manufacture the chicken fillets in China, they in no way are associated with the tainted manufacturing plant. That their product is okay. So, I did a search to find an American company and came across info in another website (God bless them for posting), that gave info on a company that makes their chicken jerky here in the USA: http://www.pawnaturals.com/Buddy_s_Tender_Tre...

It seems lately with China's exports to USA they are trying to kill us or something (I could be wrong--sorry to offend anyone), first with poisoned toys for our children, etc., and now poison in our pet's treats. Heck with it. Buy American!!!

These treats almost killed my dachshund this weekend of kidney failure. $6,000 worth of treatment and test and they all come back to these treats, BEWARE, do not feed these to your animals. I wouldn't wish this on any family. It is devastating to see your pet fighting for his life and the guilt knowing you gave him the stupid treat. PLEASE stop the madness and get rid of these. I can't have children, so my pets are my family.

I have 2 lovable dachshunds, I have been feeding them Waggin Train chicken jerky from Sams for a few years. Neither dog has ever been sick until 6 weeks ago. Started with severe vomiting and diarrhea, dog was put on IV fluids, all blood test were normal, given antibiotics, the vomiting stopped but the bowel movements stayed soft. 2 weeks ago the diarreha became worse again and his stomach started swelling up (looked like he was pregnant) lost his appetite and zest for life. Went back to the vet, ran more test, the one that stood out was albumin l.3, dangerously low, and this was the reason fluid was dumped into his abdomen. His kidney and liver function look okay. Today we were sent to a vet specialist. My poor dog is having an ultrasound, a scope down his throat and many more test plus draining some fluid from his abdomen all at a cost of $1500.00, previous bills for this condition total $1000.00. As a pet owner and lover we would spend anything for our animal to recover. We are waiting on results. I feel so guilty and angery that the chicken strips made in China are probably the culprit that caused this illness and misery. I trusted the Waggin Train report and stores like Sams that sell this product for consumption. I will never feed my animals anything I cannot eat myself, I will make and cook all of their food. My dog may die or be damaged the rest of his life (he is only 4) Anyone know who to contact to look into this company and file a complaint. Thanks, Joni a very upset consurmer.

We stopped feeding our dog Waggin Train Jerky treats some time ago. I never noticed any diahhrea, but he had a major gas problem. When we stopped feeding him thesem, the problem ended. Also noticed him eating grass & leaves. Now we have been giving him Waggin Train Jerky Links. No problems but now I don't know if we should continue with these. Has anyone else used these and if so, any problems? Wouldn't you know he absolutely loves these things?

Becky and I lost one of our Schnauzer's less than a month ago to I.M.H.A. We had been feeding the Waggin Train Chicken Jerky to both our girls in the evening before bed time as a snack. Our second Schnauzer Cassie is showing signs of anemia as well. The vet has told us that the chances of both our girls contracting I.M.H.A. are astronomical and their has to be a root source that they share. Probably toxins taken into their bodies. Well, the only thing different in their daily diet that has changed in the last seven years was the Waggin Train Chicken Jerky. Both dogs were the picture of health. There is no indisputable fact that points to Waggin Train being the culprit of the death of BJ and making Cassie anemic but sure looks coincidental to me. Have your pets red blood cells checked for anemia and dispose of this particular treat.

I have a 9 year old St. Bernard that has been very sick; he started eating grass like crazy and wouldn't stop the whole night; he kept throwing up and I finally took him to the vet - they did a blood profile and his white count was severly elevated but the other organs appeared ok; they put him on a round of Clavamox and I fed him rice and ground turkey for almost 2 weeks - he still doesn't seem 100% but he is not on a sensitive stomach dog food - I cannot touch his stomach or he flinches. Low and behold, I heard someone talk about the Waggin Trail Chicken Jerkey Treats and guess what? Yes, that's what I have been giving him for months - his favorite treat. I have a bag to test...but he is not getting any more of them. It just makes me sick to know our pets have no protection with what is on the shelves.

My dog is very ill. The vet thinks it is from the Waggin Train Wholesome Chicken Jerkey Tenders. He vomited and could not move this morning. He has liver and possibly kidney concerns. I do not know if he will make it or not.

I am coming up on the 2nd anniversary of my Cindy Lou's death, I fed her Waggin Train Chicken Jerky treats...if only I had known. She was a healthy 11 month old Chorkie. I did all I could with the FDA, the manufacturing company and the distributors to no avail. SO, everyday I tell someone and they tell someone else and one by one I save another dogs life. I will never stop! Please tell someone today...we can make it stop, if the government wont do anything we have too.

update on my other dogs, Louie 16 yr old MinPin, he is old but now healthy, he was having seizures and his kidney functions were bad. Rylie, 8 yr old Cattle Dog, had kidney issues also.

They are both doing well now..Thank God, No more problems period. We have a new addition to the family. Sophie a Yorkie, she has helped us mend our broken hearts, but we will never forget our Cindy Lou.
