After reading all of news on the Bestros Chicken Jerky Strips, it made
me start thinking. On July 18, 2007, my 3 year old Pomeranian named
Harley had a bout with a Bacteria Infection, that was causing him to
have very bloody stools, he was weak. I had taken him to the Vet.
with blood test, they showed he had a bacteria infection. He was
given 2 types of Antibotics, Metronidazole and Zeniquin, I had no
idea as to how he got this, now after reading about the Bestros
Chicken Jerky Strips, he wasn't getting those. But he was getting
your product Waggin' Train Brand. Thanks to his Vet he got over this,
but when I think he could have died, it horrifies me. I
bought the product Waggin' Train Brand treats from our local Walmart in GA.

How I know this was the exact same time, my first thought on his
bloody stools, I thought maybe he had not digested the treat, and
maybe it was cutting him when he had a bowel movement. After reading about all of the Chicken Jerky Treats, I went to Walmart today, and they are still selling the Waggin' Train Brand Chicken Jerky Treats, I bought a bag just in case I need to get it tested. It is Friday, but on Monday I am going to call Harleys Vet and see what he thinks about this. Something needs to be done, Harley is part of my family, and it makes me so mad to think that this could have killed him.

I Just bought my first bag of Chicken Jerky treats form Costco. Lucky I heard of problems on the radio on the way home. Goggled this site and wow! Sorry to hear so many dogs are getting sick from these treats. I am taking these treats back to Costco for a refund. No more "China" made food products for my dogs

ADI Pet is definitely to blame here - they are not listening to their loyal customers who purchased the product and relied on its safety. ADI Pet needed to take action when they got the first complaint ... they still claim that their product is safe.

It is not coincidence that all these pets got sick. There is something very wrong with this product.

I really cannot believe that after all the complaints and calls to various regulatory bodies and stores that this product is still on the shelves.

I also buy Waggin Tails chicken for my dogs. They love it. I noticed a month or so ago there were some bags where the chicken was awful dark and just didnt look right to me. I just thought they over cooked it. Who knows now. I sell homemade dog treats in my shop. You should start looking for a recipe or a shop that sells them in their store. Ask the ingredients. They should be human grade. Good luck.

Another case of either another paid ADI pumper or simply an ignorant uninformed person.

Wrong answer PAL, the bag says the Waggin Train Tenders product is "MADE IN CHINA". Explain to us how THAT is American made!

Why would you sit here and try to lie to people? What is your agenda?

Thought so. Try peddling your lies elsewhere. There are way too many people reporting the exact same symptoms of illness and death involving their pets who were fed this product that is MADE IN CHINA.

Does anyone know if they ship this in bulk from China and then simply repackage it? That is a very common way of selling items from China.

Have you seen the information that's here:

It sure doesn't sound like Waggin Train is the problem, they're the good guys.
Hey Johnathan...you wouldn't happen to be jonathan@bernsteincrisismanage ment.com? Talk about lousy damage control.

The waggintrainblog is just more of the same rhetoric.

The thing is that most of us do take the time to read the labels on the products we give our pets. We've picked this brand because we trusted what they claimed to be true. The made in China label is small, I had really never noticed it myself. And problems can occur in any situation, no matter how careful a manufacturer tries to be.

The bottom line is ADI needs to take some accountability and state that there could be a problem. I've been buying this product for over a year. Luckily, my dog did not get sick. But, I've been ill for days just thinking that I could have accidentally poisoned her. I will never buy this product again...no matter what the outcome. I urge everyone to make an effort to avoid buying all products manufactured in China until our companies here in the USA take responsibility for the quality of the goods they put their name on.

Just listened to the news channel that aired a follow up story and now they are making corrections saying the FDA is not investigating the Waggin' Train Brand Chicken Jerky Tenders. WOW...if I personally made a formal complaint how can this be?

I sure hope this Johnathan is not just trying to do damage control, that would be a low blow.

Listen people we have to take the time to contact the FDA and Government officials it is our resposibility to our pets. When my little Cindy as sick as she was found the strengh to give us one last little kiss just seconds before the vet injected her IV, my heart broke it was one of the worst things I have ever been through and I will not rest until I have some answers. If it is not the treats that had anything to do with this I will be happy for me, and everyone else knowing our pets can continue to enjoy their favorite treats.
Until we voice our concerns to the right people we may never know.

Make the call...please.

There is no recall for any Waggin' Train product. There are some dogs who have gotten sick after eating Waggin' Train chicken jerky, including my dog, but there is no proof yet that it was the jerky that caused it. There needs to be some testing done on the suspect batches, but from the responses we've gotten from the manufacturer, it does not appear that they are interested in testing them.

I have not seen any other Waggin' Train products suspected as causing any illness, only the chicken jerky. Whether the other treats are safe to give to your dog is something nobody can tell you. Right now, nobody knows what's safe. Until we get some definite answers from food and treat companies (after testing, IF they test), I'm avoiding all products that are made in China, and all products made in the U.S. whose ingredients originate from China. If the company won't tell me where the ingredients originate from, I won't be feeding them to my dog.

I believe that the media has crushed the Waggin Train Chicken Tenders brand by ADI Pet. The recall involved a brand similar but by a company called BESTRO.
I DO believe that all pet treat & food products made anywhere but the USA are to not be trusted though.
I WILL NOT buy any product for my pet unless made in the USA.
Be careful Waggin Train tenders say CA but are made in China the writing is very small on the bag.

Last monday our mini schnauzer became very ill, vomiting and diarrhea the vet didnt yet know about the recall on jerky treats. I had been giving her samll pieces of the costco brand Kingdom Pets. He put her on antibiotics and thankfully she is doing fine now. I am taking the bag back to costco and want to warn others that apparently there is samonella in their brand too. I am also taking back the bag of costco food too.

We have just spent 2 days and $2000 on our Fox Hound mix who until 6:30 two nights ago was a happy and healthy dog. He started having massive seisures and is at the University of TN Vet Clinic right now on an IV drip of Valium to control his clusture seisures. He has been eating the Waggin' Tail. Has anyone else had experience with Seisures their dog? When I went to my vet yesterday, another dog was in also with seizures and a third in with a mysterious skin ailment. All three had eaten the same thing. My dog's liver is smaller than normal, indicating exposure to a toxin. I don't know if he will make it. He is my daughter's dog, but an important member of the family. We love him dearly.

I am a veterinarian in Ohio. The jerky treats recalled are suspected of being contaminated with the Salmonella bacterium. The Waggin Train brand bag does carry the irradiation label. This should mean that the contents is irradiated which is done to kill bacteria. It is still made in China and I worry that the irradiation could have been done prior to packaging which leaves it open to possible contamination. Safest to withhold all chicken jerky until further notice. I support buying USA-made pet foods.

I just filed a complaint with the FDA and with Waggin Train. My dog didn't have any more seizures today which is great news. When we went to visit him at the vet's he was whining. He is usually a very happy and active dog, my daughter is heart broken and we are very sad in our house. If he doesn't make it, someone will pay. My vet bill will be over $4000 when all is said and done, but we are not a wealthy family. I guess this food from China is just plain good for the economy!

I am so sorry about your experiences and I pray that your dog pulls through this. I feel your heartbreak and the hardship on your wallet we are in the same boat. Thank you for contacting the FDA, I believe that is the first step. Please also contact your local elected officials and let them know what you are going through. Laws need to be changed, our pets are not property, we are simply their guardians and since they depend on us we need to protect their well being.

Many of the posts have noted the UPC Code and the Vendor Item Number on the Waggin Train Brand Chicken Jerky Treats, what is most important is the LOT No. located on the front of the bag below the NetWT on a stick on white label. Our dogs have not gotten sick and we have gone through about half of Lot No 94478 and have an unopened bag with Lot No 94638. So check your lot numbers report any problems to the FDA, Adi, Sam's Club, Walmart etc.
