LI sales tax revenue still plunging

Levy and SUozzi should take a 50% pay cut

It makes sense.When unemployment is close to double digits spending is going to go down.More people spend cash at dollar stores ect.
The hard reallity is goverment has to get smaller.Too much waste is going on.
Some companies are grabbing this bad economy and running with it.They are still making BIG cash but are shutting employess out.Raise freezes ect.It is just not on L.I. but all over the country.

Of course they are plunging.

1. new Energy Tax surcharge
2. Increased assessments by his appointed assessor.
3. Increased tax rates

Hey, I have a novel idea. Let's tax cigarettes and make smokers pay for the shortfall in tax revenue! The high cost of smoking will then get the smokers to quit and their health will improve...Wait a minute: if they all quit smoking, how will we make up our tax shortfall in the future...Drats!

Suozzi and Levy don't have a creative bone in their bodies to come up with new ways to generate revenue other than to raise taxes. This is why Long Island is going to the dogs. I am so glad I left...

Jeff.... don't make the same mistake as everyone else... don't make ANY DEAL with Levy.... he's a madman... and he's getting close to the edge... NO DEALS!

We spend less so we can take care of our families and these twits just keep spending like drunken sailors. They think there is a never ending river of money that they can WASTE. This is why we MUST vote out ALL incumbents. Especially in the NYS senate. All a bunch of spoiled brats that don't give a crap about anything except getting elected.

Steve Levy cant negotiate with others. Steveie, its obvious that you have been going after the police dept giving their positions to the Sheriffs who do not perform that knid of work on a daily basis, and simply eliminating police jobs. The PBA said they will give you those concessions, and arent asking for anything extra in return, only that you stop dismantling parts of their already depleted police force. And what do you say, "No"!
Im sorry Levy but it doesnt take a genius to see that it is you that is the problem here. Time for you to step up for once.
And where is your concessions? You and your staff get yearly raises and dont skip a beat on that one. I for one have had it with your nonsense.
