Full story: Newsday

I wear hats with logos from my clients. It looks classy and is a good conversation starter in travel situations.

So if I am forced to remove them, and others are not forced to remove their headgear, that is religious discrimination against me- with my baseball hat.

An open message to our turban wearing friends.

It seems to me that I don't really like all the screening I am forced to go through to get on a plane these days... but I do so for the SAFETY of myself and others (including you!. If these folks have a problem with the rules we ALL have to live by... I have a simple answer.... WALK TO YOUR DESTINATION!!!!

Airline travel is NOT a right... and it is a PRIVATE business that is doing it's best to stay in business thanks to the TERRORIST actions of several of your fellow "believers"... theses actions are not the result or the acts of discimination... it's todays world... if you don't like it... jump on your magic carpet and head home!

I've grown quite tired of this countries efforts NOT to hurt your feelings.... time to get with the program... if not... it's time for you to LEAVE!

Have a nice walk home!

I read this post, and after reading up on the Sikh religion and it's culture, I say that they have every right to be offended. They are the target of religious persocution in a country which prides itself on having none. This debate obviously hinges on the all encompassing security vs. personal freedoms debate. Now, everyone has their personal opinions, and I would say that when you start to persecute one group in particular with a law that was quietly declared, then the rest of America should get worried.

You say profiling is against the law???

It should BE THE LAW!!!!!!!

Has America forgot about 911? Perhaps they should MAKE ALL AMERICANS watch the video from that day in history....over and over and over again to insure that we NEVER FORGET what happenned that day....

Take your damn hat off and keep the freaking line moving.....

If we bow to every perceived slight by some group because of a procedure that has nothing to do with profiling or prejudice, we will never be truly safe. The procedure clearly indicates TSA agents will check COWBOY HATS,
TURBANS OR "any attire that might hide an improvised explosive device." To amend this procedure by not checking because someone claims a religious privilege is to invite some terrorist to claim to be a Sikh or a Rastafarian or some other religious sect and put us all at risk.

I agree with almost everthing that has posted so far-shocking since there is usually one person offended or just an a hole.
If you don't want to cooperate with US laws, then get out of the US. If you don't like our country so much, then GET OUT and NEVER LOOK BACK! Leave us Americans alone-we have enough problems with drugs, guns and murder we don't need any more!

From an e-mail

I've been trying to say this since 9-11, but you worry me. I wish you didn't. I wish when I walked down the streets of this country that I love, that your color and culture still blended with the beautiful human landscape we enjoy in this country. But you don't blend in anymore. I notice you, and it worries me.

I notice you because I can't help it anymore. People from your homelands, professing to be Muslims, have been attacking and killing my fellow citizens and our friends for more than 20 years now. I don't fully understand their grievances and hate, but I know that nothing can justify the inhumanity of their attacks.

On September 11, nineteen ARAB-MUSLIMS hijacked four jetliners in my country. They cut the throats of women in front of children and brutally stabbed to death others. They took control of those planes and crashed them into buildings killing thousands of proud fathers, loving sons, wise grandparents, elegant daughters, best friends, favorite coaches, fearless public servants, and children's mothers.

The Palestinians Celebrated, the Iraqis were overjoyed as was most of the Arab world. So, I notice you now. I don't want to be worried. I don't want to be consumed by the same rage and hate and prejudice that has destroyed the soul of these terrorists. But, I need your help. As a rational American, trying to protect my country and family in an irrational and unsafe world, I must know how to tell the difference between you, and the Arab/Muslim terrorist.

How do I differentiate between the true Arab/Muslim-Americans and theArab/Muslim terrorists in our communities who are attending our schools, enjoying our parks, and living in OUR communities under the protection of OUR constitution, while they plot the next attack that will laughter these same good neighbors and children?

The events of September 11th changed the answer. It is not my responsibility to determine which of you embraces our great country, with ALL of its religions, with ALL of its different citizens, with all of its faults. It is time for every Arab/Muslim in this country to determine it for me.

I want to know, I demand to know, and I have a right to know, whether or not you love America . Do you pledge allegiance to its flag? Do you proudly display it in front of your house, or on your car? Do you pray in your many daily prayers that Allah will bless this nation, that He will protect and prosper it? Or, do you pray that Allah with destroy it in one of your Jihads? Are you thankful for the freedom that only this nation affords? A freedom that was paid for by the blood of hundreds of thousands of patriots who gave their lives for this country? Are you willing to preserve this freedom by also paying the ultimate sacrifice? Do you love America ? If this is your commitment, then I need YOU to start letting ME know about it.

I have a knee replacement and go through the "pat down" every time I travel. In Frankfurt they did it 3 times from one gate to another. I just tell them I came for my message!
Get over it, its no big deal. I don't feel picked on.

Daily Horoscope for February 12

Virgo

Before the day's even fully underway, you could be drawn to an item in a shop which proves irresistible. Of course, there could be other wonderful items in other shops.... but can you afford to grin and keep shopping? If you don't exercise some control, tomorrow you're going to wonder what on earth happened. You don't need a lawnmower if you live in an apartment, or four hundred disposable nappies if you don't have a baby! Get the point?
