please, please bring back this store in it's entirety. There is and will only be one Fortunoff's store. It has left a big hole in Long Island. I can't begin to tell you how much I have missed this store.

I agree, there is a big hole in quality and selection without Fortunoff's. Bring it back!

Lewis isn't an Alan. Back to basics should have been done 10 years ago. We wish you luck but the flagship store should-never- have been sold.

Nobody in the family is an Alan. Other than Max & Clara Fortunoff and later Marjorie Mayrock, Alan was the only one with a brain.

Always said Fortunoff had the best vtrained sales staff on Long Island. It was always a pleasure to shop at Fortunoff and deal with those men and women.

Now they are all out of work because of the greed of this family which sold out to the corporates.

Now they want to bring it back? I don't think so. They have hurt to many Long Islanders for the rest of us to even consider patronizing them again.

Now P.C. Richard! Now there is a family run operation that is second to none. Honest as they come. I vote we keep P.S. Richard and screw the spoliled Fortunoff brats that sold Long Islandf out.

If they re-open BOYCOTT them!

Great, screw up, go bankrupt, stick it to your creditors then re-emerge in smarter fashion. They should be forced to pay creditors back with their first earnings.

The family didn't cause the bankruptcy, the corporation that the family sold the company to caused the bankruptcy. There was no problem until the company left the family's hands.

My grandparents were an early housewares supplier of Fortunoff, and friends of Max and Clara. The Fortunoff's really were nice and honest people and they were excellent customers who did not "stick their creditors". Its a shame that the exceptional name and business that they built ended the way it has.

Personally I will miss most their bridal registry. "Registering" at Fortunoff was such a LI Wedding "thing" to do. You got the ring, then you went to Fortunoffs. Its just how it worked. Lots of hopes and dreams walked through the Westbury store, people planning their new lives in infinite detail, and lots of fond memories were made while doing so.

I will miss Fortunoff. If they reemerge I probably won't shop there. I'm upset they allowed the corporation to put hardworking men and women out of jobs. I felt safe purchasing jewelry in their stores. I loved the security guards. I like Century 21 - I'm excited about them going to the Source Mall. I guess I will have to trek to Tiffany's if I want good jewelry. At least they don't jerk patrons and workers around

You're correct, but my point was why did they decide to expand all over the place? IMO, that's what killed them. Same as with Swezeys in Patchogue. I say greed.

David Fortunoff wasn't even really involved with the store, he sold wine(which closed up) and other things. As an ex vendor, i wouldn't give them .01$ of credit. The name is dead, the "mystique" is gone and there's better service and prices in tons of places.

PC Richards "honets as they come" are you kidding!!!!???? I've never delt with a more uninformed, uncaring, rude sales staff in my life. I was so shocked at the poor service I walked out without buying a thing. I have a PC Richards around the corner from my home and I refuse to shop there ever again.

Are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!Selfish and greed are nice words to describe;
Esther, Ruth, David, Louis, etc., etc.They got millions when they sold the blood, sweat, and tears of their father and grandparents and all the hard working, loyal associates. In fact one took it so hard she got so sick and died.....nice job live with that. Then they screw all the creditors that some of them lost their family owned business because they trusted these liars! Who would be stupid enough to trust them again!
