The White House has been peddling lies for a living for the last 7 years and when the truth is told, it hurts. "Outrageous" indeed !! The white lies coming from the White House has left this President with no credibility whatsoever. It is only out of respect for his position that Dubya has been left unscathed - which is a shame really. Maybe one of the cardiologists will fit Cheney's pacemaker with one of Nokia's exploding batteries.

Well, Clinton has sold her sole. She is not her own "woman" and her flawed character shows through. remember folks, she was the wife of a great president for 8 years...she has tasted the reality of the life of the president even during an unpopular war. perhaps her hatred runnith too deep.

I guess she and all the Libs think that they are running against George W. Bush. It will be hard for her to defeat her opponent in 2008 - she has no idea who it will be. Oh and Bob - the citizens of Katrina first were invisible to their mayor and governor - once they thoroughly screwed the pooch - than it was time to blame Washington.

THE SPACE AGE, OPTICS, AND RACISM

Racism, more particularly anti-Black racism, shows itself in many ways. But the general public is only aware of the visible tip of the iceberg: race riots, various kinds of segregation and obvious racist remarks. The other part of the iceberg, while less visible, is fundamentally more important and never ceases to affect human life. It constitutes, in short, a heavy handicap in inter-human relations and even blocks the road leading to scientific progress.

One scientist who has found this to be true is Professor Carl Sagan, the famous astrophysicist from NASA. Through the careful study of cutting-edge research in astrophysics, among other areas, he was able to detect a set of anti-Black prejudices which, in his opinion, hinder progress and represent brakes on the pursuit of new discoveries in the Space Age.

Professor Sagan’s astute observation provoked a positive and yet critical reaction on the part of Mr. Lucien Bonnet, a member of the Black community in Canada and a specialist in optics, that “exclusive preserve of the scientific world, that beloved field whose seemingly complicated and dangerous approaches are actually transparently obvious”.

The Western world, accepting Newton’s theory, has declared that white is the synthesis of all the colors; actually, according to Mr. Bonnet, the reverse is true: white is the “visible” analysis or breaking-down of light or colors, whereas black is the “invisible” synthesis or compounding of colors.

In other words, according to the author’s thesis, darkness or blackness and thus, by extension,“Black Holes”, are a source of energy and light.

This raw material of light energy culminates, at its highest degree of radiation, in the neutralization of all the colors of the spectrum in the form of “white light”, to use the common term.

Consequently,“absolute blackness”, the absorption of all colors, is a divisible compound of light. Without any doubt, Newton’s theory, in excluding black, provides only a partial interpretation of the concept of light. Lucien Bonnet’s thesis is intended to show that black is not only an integral part of the light process but the true synthesis of it. In this view, the concept of light is thus seen to be a “divisible” whole including a range of intensities (or colors), where black is the “invisible”(or absorbed) form of light energy.

It was in order to introduce this new scientific vision of optics that Mr. Bonnet addressed the above-mentioned, particularly relevant, letter to Professor Sagan.

This letter, published in booklet form, aroused considerable interest in Canadian and Haitian circles.

In Canada, two prestigious publications — Le Devoir and Le Québec Industriel — mentioned it. While the 17th General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union was taking place in Montreal in August 1979, Quebec’s Telemedia Network, including Montreal television station Télémétropole, interviewed the author, Lucien Bonnet.

In Haiti, the weekly magazine Le Patriote republished in its entirety the document sent to Dr. Sagan.

Aware that the ideas contained in that document might be of interest to the Christian world, the author also sent it to the highest authorities of the Catholic Church, as well as to the Supreme Pontiff, His Holiness Pope John Paul II.

A full understanding of the elements making up this subject will doubtless help the reader to consider color problems, like those of optics and racism, more serenely and objectively from now on.

These comments are funny and right on target. Humor is all we have left to carry us through to the duration. Thank goodness for that! She is telling it like it is. The worst administration in our history. We should be grateful he has not had the time to tweak Social Security, Health Care, etc. The mess is huge enough. No better example of "invisible" than Katrina and the wipe out and destruction of beautiful, historical New Orleans and all of those people!!

vote lesser evil (D) in 08. there's more to life than wars and tax cuts.

i'm not looking for rainbows and paradise. i just want someone who won't screw things up so consistently and so badly.

this is a reasonable goal, and there are several people in this field who will fit that bill. as a side benefit, those same people are not especially threatened by gays, are more judicious about invading other countries, and are less likely to hand my tax money to religious nuts or corporate sponsors.

much as i admire Ron Paul's integrity, he will be a lame-duck president from day one. very few people will cooperate with him on anything. the old-style conservatives are by far the smallest group in Congress (and in the US), having lost most of their members to the better-funded (because they are thoroughly bribed, and utterly corrupt) neocon-and-fundie Republicans; the centrists (of both parties) are driving their own agenda; and as for the left, well, they're having trouble agreeing that water is wet (this is why Kucinich and Gravel were done before they started).

And to underscore your true belief in liberty, one of the first things you liberals will do is enact the fairness doctrine, effectively muzzling the right-leaning radio talk show personalities. No opinions other than yours would be good, right? Now that's sounding scary...

I am an Active Duty Sailor who also spent several years as a Marine. I am currently serving in Iraq, for the third time. I haven't had the oppurtunity to view this ad, but the responses have been interesting to me. It is as they say about the crabs in a bucket. If you put in one crab, it will quickly climb out, but more than one, and they will knock each other down, and none will escape. I don't see how anyone can blame one individual for any catastrophic event such as Katrina. I am so frustrated with the state of politics today. It seems as if the candidates spend so much time tearing down others, I can't seem to learn anything about how they feel themselves, or what they stand for.
One thing I would like to point out, the current administration has done nothing better than respond to the need of the warrior on the ground. We are better equipped than we have ever been. We have better and constantly updated intel and training than ever before. I work in the Medical field as a Corpsman, and we have the resources we have asked for, in greater abundance thn ever before. I have seen Congress and the White House infighting cause damage for years, many more than 7, and I am sick of it.
Grow up, work together, talk to a Sailor, a Marine, a Soldier, an Airman, and find out what we think.
Also, quit wasting our time attacking others, and tell us what you are going to do, IF we elect you.

Boy-
Are you drinking that Right-Wing Kool-Aid!
The media is controlled by corporate Giants. 95 percent of talk radio is conservative talk and propoganda which obviously you buy heavily into. The Fairness Doctrine just wants an equal playing field of the PUBLIC airwaves. The FCC handed out FREE spectrum with the understanding that the radio stations would operate in the public's best interests. It is in NOBODY's best interest to have all news and opinion almost completely one-sided. You must be one of the 30 percenters-(that still think Bushlit is doing a great job- huh?

What are you trying to say? I doubt that you are a "newly found" Republican. An unpopular President with a horrible track record of managing our country deserves criticism. And what the current administration has none of is spelled s o u l.
