Geat Idea, Spend out tax dollars to construct a site where people who entered this country illegallly can get jobs it is illegal for them to have. Our money would support the hiring of people who lower the wages of blue-collar Americans.

They claim these illegals take jobs "Americans do not want". This is the same rational that they used for slavery, the slaves worked jobs no one else wanted.

The only people who profit are the illeagal immigrants and the people who hire them. They pay the illegals lower wages, do not pay taxes or social security. Companies that play by the rules can compete with them.

The people that lose are average American citizens, who are forced to pay even more taxes for the education of the children of these illegal immigrants. We also pay more so these illegals can get free emergency health care, which by law hospitals can not deny them.

Here is a radical idea. Lets use this money to enforce our laws. Can we deport 12 million illegal immigrants? No, but if we make it difficult to get illegal jobs here, they will go back on their own to their home countries.

First what part of illegal don't these people understand?
Secondly, I pay taxes, the illegal immigrants and the contractors that hire them don't.
Third when an illegal immigrant is injured or ill who pays the medical bills. When the federal and state governments are threating to cut back re-imbursements to hospitals I don't think we should be giving FREE medical care to illegal immigrants.
Finally if there was a hiring hall it would not stop illegal immigrants from loitering around the streets looking for work.

Huntington Station's day labor site always fit well with our local government and business leaders. It has help to keep the culture of corruption alive and thriving in Huntington.

It's hard for some of you "liberal left"but to see tax dollars funding a site that promotes tax evasion is hard to stomach. Watching affordable single-family houses gobbled up by corrupt multi-millionaire slumlords and people forced to live like animals in a cage is also hard to stomach.

Knowing some of these slumlords and one in particular getting HUD funds is disgraceful and illegal.
The town of Huntington should and might yet be sued over helping to ruin a community by funding with our tax dollars a site where people and businesses can avoid paying state and federal taxes.

Just recently we have had a shooting and a stabbing in the area and very little coverage from the media and from some newspapers none at all of the events. It's time for this day labor site to be moved away from a major local thorough fair and it's illegal funding by taxes stopped.

I know where the spot should be... wait for it.... WHATEVER COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM.... yeah thats the spot.

For Legis and Mr. Barraga please be informed that the issue here is not putting up a hiring site but upholding our US IMMIGRATION LAWS (ARE YOU AMERICANS "US Citizens/Legal Residents?)If they are illegals, undocumented, unauthorized foreign nationals they should be deported immediately for violating our US IMMIGRATION LAWS.

The entire idea of deportation is really very simple. Not that I in any way support deportation except for criminals.

However registration and a draft card (with a guestworker draft) just might convince a few they should go back home.

Might also be a very good way to give our troops a well deserved break.

This stuff just makes my blood boil; knowing that my rights are being trampled upon by these low life politicians and Illegal Aliens from around the globe.
I am the one paying for there medical, education, welfare, children and the rest of their family whether here or in the low life country of origin that they came from.
This will all end one day. Why hire an American trying to play by the rules in this country. You can go to a "hiring site" choose whichever person looks like he can do the best job for you that day, the next week, or even the next 10-20 years!!! the choice is yours MR. Employer. ON the other hand you can hire a traditional Long Island bread winner, yes he needs a certain wage to support his legal residence where only a traditional family lives where he and his wife contribute to the bills (not 10-15 like these new comers). He is going to expect a lunch break and other 15 minute breaks as stated by laws in this country (laws that are being broken more and more each day). He may be looking for benefits to keep him and his family in good health (now in service sector jobs benefits are offered at a decreased level more and more each day). He might want a paid vacation after he works for you a year or so ( this to has become something that employers are not offering as much for service sector jobs. Well America it just comes down to dollars and sense. Employers don't need you anymore, our government has made it all right to hire from any Central American country you want without obeying any of the labor laws set up in this country. You are right, start penalizing employers not playing by the rules set up in this country. What is going on now is complete madness.
