Oh, I'm sorry we should really continue to focus on that bananna theif, farce of a black leader Al Sharpton. There is nothing more to be said about that con-man. Why talk about a hated man? we all knows he's wrong and we know the verdict in the case was fair because Al Sharpton showed up and when he shows up you know he is defending the wrong party.

Sharpton has made some questionable decisions in the past, but if you knew the facts on the case you would state that he's spot on in this case. 50 rounds on a unarmed man that was celebrating his impending marriage...and one cop even reloaded. In NYC, even if you have committed no crime, they will make up some story to make it appear that you did...NYC is no better that the South.

Might wanna do some research before you make claims about something you have no knowledge of. Good 'ol Sean Bell was NOT (and I'll repeat for the MILLIONTH time) NOT!!! getting married that day. A marriage license in NY must be filed 24 hours in advance--and there are no such records of any filing. Just goes to show how simple-minded and easily you trust everything the media might have you believe.

And just for the record, I would want to have to walk in the shoes of Nicole Paultre-Bell.
What a waste of a "husband". Criminal records, drug trafficking, two children to tend to with a "father" who had no job and was attempting to solicit prostitutes on the day of his alleged "wedding".
Sheesh. No thanks. Talk about a waste of a human life...

I'm actually not from Philly. I live in NYC.
My IPO, for whatever reason, is posting as Philly.
Not sure how that computes, though. Nor why it might matter, IDA.

Ida Tarbell wrote: I guess you suspended Philly cops have nothing better to do today, do you "Geraldine." I believe that when cops are in fear of their lives, that they have a sworn duty and a code of ethics to uphold. And, in a court of law, they have every right to investigate the probability of "criminality" behind their actions. The Judge said, when delivering his verdict, that the Prosecution's credibility was "viscerating"; that their stories continually changed. Now, I do not claim complete competence on the part of the NYPD officers involved. I believe 50 shots IS a little excessive. But I also believe that the Judge made a decision, based on the evidence available. And I also believe that the NYPD does a fantastic job, in their duties--and I certainly hope they will continue to do so. I suppose my anger toward this issue stems from the racial outcries; and our communities denouncing the wonderful work that the NYPD does (that, mind you, continually goes unnoticed by most and the media)... I simply do not get it. Period. And to claim that there was racial profiling/discrimination/abuse , etc etc is just inappropriate. The three officers in question were all MINORITIES. So--to say that they're "racist", or that these men (Sean Bell & Co.) were profiled, based on their ethnicity is grossly falsified. If anything, they were "profiled" based on their own actions, and their own threats of having firearms. These officers committed no act of criminality, in the eyes of the court. They had a perception that their lives were in imminent danger; as created by the Prosecution and reckless endangerment of Sean Bell & his cohorts, that night.

I agree with you, Geraldine. It's not an issue of racism. it is an issue of police force and when force and how much force is appropriate.
Police have an extremely hard job and I can see the pressures of the job getting to them and possibly making them trigger sensitive. But, objectively, they can't be blamed. Subjectively, it is a different story for the family of those subjected to their "trigger sensitivity".
