I only have one little one, a little boy. Society puts a totally different kind of pressure on boys. They have to be the toughest, the meanest, the fastest, the best little athletes.
I have very high expectations in my little guy, he has been taught to take pride in his appearance, that he must treat others in the way he wants to be treated, doing well in school is a choice, he will succeed in so far as he wants to, he can be and do what ever his little heart desires. The world isn’t that big of a place. I am fortunate enough as a parent to take him to different places so he truly appreciates that last statement. He’s already been on three transatlantic trips. He only just started kindergarten but fully understands that he is accountable for the choices he makes. Even with these expectations that are deeply instilled in him, he is allowed to be a little boy and do little boy things. You can teach your children to do well and be respectful without taking away their childhood. It takes being involved, being a motivated and encouraging life coach.

Ink, treatment was deliberately withheld for weeks only BECAUSE she was pregnant. Perhaps it would have not made any difference in the outcome - guess we'll never know now.
What really bothers me is that based on research - chemo in the first tri will likely not interfere with a pregnancy. Sad.
