Last weekend, Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) was all over TV promising to kill healthcare reform by supporting a Republican filibuster. Today, just hours after the House passed its bill, he repeated his threat on FOX. Even though Lieberman campaigned against President Obama, Senate Democrats let him keep his chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee because he promised to support Democratic bills. Now he's broken his promise. Tell Harry Reid to hold Joe Lieberman accountable for blocking healthcare reform by taking away his committee chair. Bob Fertik Tell Harry: Joe Must Go http://www.democrats.com/joe-must-go... Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) plans to join with Republicans to filibuster any health care bill that contains a public option. Alone, the Republicans don't have the votes for a filibuster. So by joining with them, Lieberman would be tipping the balance of power in order to sink health care reform. We need to push the leaders of the Democratic caucus to take a tough stand against Lieberman. Tell Harry Reid to fire Joe Lieberman as chair of the Homeland Security Committee. Last year, the New York Times quoted an anonymous "member of the Senate Democratic leadership" who said about Lieberman: "We need every vote. He's with us on everything but the war." Apparently Joe lied to the Senate Democrats. Now is the time for Senate Democratic leadership -- Senators Reid, Schumer, and Durbin -- to stop making excuses for Joe Lieberman. Harry Reid has shown great leadership in writing a health care bill that includes the public option. But Joe Lieberman is not "with us" on everything but the war. Joe Lieberman's position is against Senate Democrats, against his constituents in Connecticut and against the will of the American public. Tell Harry: Joe Must Go Thank you for working to secure real health care reform. Matt Lockshin, Campaign Manager CREDO Action from Working Assets

Joe Lieberman is one of the few people in congress who votes with his conscience and does not blindly follow a party. That is why the democrats went after him in the last election. The irony is that is what all our politicians should be like. They need to do what is right, not what the party tells them to. That is unlike the rest of the garbage in Washington.

Unlike the Obamatrons, who try to weasel their "plans" through with the Bum Rush, the Saturday night votes, the constant phony "emergenicies," etc.

For the ignorant and naive crackers who believe Joe is voting his conscience: Joe Lieberman is sucking big bucks from Connecticut's insurance industry. Joe Liebermann does not care about the people he is trying to build up a fat bank account to get his miserable self reelected. Today Lieberman accused the Army psychiatrist shooter a "terrorist - the only member of Congress to wave the bloody shirt before the Army inquiry is complete. Joe is a cheap politician and a miserable human being.

B) If you think for a second that whack-job Army Psych did not commit terrorism you need an mental evaluation...at least lieberman is saying what the rest of us already believe and not afraid of offending muslims. I wonder if this petition will be as "successful" as the one to get Glen Beck off the air. That was a funny. I think after 3 days the petition got 4 signatures. Meanwhile, Beck's ratings were skyrocketing.

Then, tell me what legislation Joe supported in favor of the insurance industry and which you think is bad public policy.

Joe is a cheap politician and a miserable human being. Lieberman suggested that he may be a terrorist, but he said it remained too early to draw any definitive conclusions. Here is a source and the quote. By the way I would never rule out that a politician is acting for personal gain, but if you make the comment, it would help if you back it up with a link so that we can all consider it. "Mr. Lieberman, appearing on "Fox News Sunday," cautioned that it remained too early to draw any definitive conclusions. He said his comments were based on "reports that we are receiving" about Mr. Hasan's actions and comments." http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1257697644418... http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/fort-hood-shoot...

By the way, I also not exclude that Lieberman is against the health care bill because of the public anger to the bill. But if that is the case, I would consider it him listening to the voters he is representing, in contrast to Pelosi, Obama, and the rest of the democrats who are ignoring the people they work for, and instead attacking those citizens that DARE to speak out against their agenda. "Mr. Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, recognized Mr. Owens’s election and then posed a question to the other lawmakers. According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked,“Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care?" http://prescriptions.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/1...

Joe Lieberman clearly stated that he honestly believes that this new health care bill will bankrupt the country. So does the CBO. So do many Americans. So do I. No doubt, health care needs to be reformed. Why not start with allowing Insurance companies to cross state lines, while enacting Tort Reform? Let's see how THAT works first before spending MONEY WE SIMPLY DON'T HAVE RIGHT NOW!
